IN   THE   WALLED   GARDEN   BEHIND   THEIR   HOME,   THERE   IS   A   STURDY   BEECH   TREE.         the   branches   are   heavy   and   old,   providing   plenty   of   shade   over   this   corner   of   the   yard      —      a   perfect   spot,   indeed,   for   a   sun-averse   drow   and   his   partner   to   lounge   on   a   warm,   spring   day.   

caleb   lays   back   against   essek,   who   rests   against   the   tree.            “      tell   me   about   your   day,   sternenlicht,      ”            he   says,   his   voice   a   sleepy   song   in   the   cozy   warmth   and   after-work   glow   of   the   afternoon.      he   smiles,   his   eyes   shut   and   his   fingers   intertwined   with   essek’s.            “      what   is   it   you   get   up   to   while   i   am   away,   hmm?      ”

He bit his lip, and looked down. He wanted to fiddle with something his hands, so he began to just mess with his fingers. He hadn’t done this in a long time, he had refrained from it for so long. But he was falling into old habits he supposed. Not that he knew there was really nothing wrong with them. He looked down and then back at Essek, “Why do you think I would?” After everything, went left unsaid.

                  Words  had  spilled  effortlessly,  tales  a  little  more  golden  in  the  forgiving  passage  of  time.    In  the  haze  of  reminiscence  details  were  forgotten,  dull  landscapes  a  little  brighter  as  she  painted  them  and  truth  ever-so-slightly  shifted  to  align  with  her  vision.    They  weren’t  lies,  not  exactly…    but  what  use  were  sad  details  for  what  was  meant  to  be  a  jolly  conversation?    Maybe  she  had  overreacted  when  Veth  called  her  out  on  her  retelling,  maybe  she  shouldn’t  have  let  the  quiet  take  her  before  breaking  off  entirely  for  space.

                  Yet  she  sits,  sketchbook  in  hand  though  no  drawings  materialise.    Over  the  years  she’s  become  less  reliant  on  her  masks,  more  willing  to  talk  about  the  bad  stuff  in  the  comforting  firelight,  but  what  use  are  words  when  the  cause  isn't  tangible?    When  every  time  she  thinks  she  has  a  grasp  on  it,  it  slips  through  her  fingertips.    An  accumulation  then,  maybe.    No  one  cause  but  an  avalanche  finally  set  free.

                  She  doesn’t  hear  Essek  approach,  no  thought  spared  that  someone  might  eventually  follow.      “You  want  a  better  story.  Who  wouldn’t?”      @fallenprince  says  and  Jester  doesn’t  look  up  immediately,  almost  petulant  in  the  crease  in  her  brows.      “Why  should  it  matter  if  it’s  not  perfectly  realistic?    Books  change  details  all  the  time  and  nobody  cares  then  when  it  makes  the  story  better.”

   Oh, he wouldn’t hear the end of this from the crew.  Fjord can already hear the chuckling as he breaks the water’s surface.  With a shake of his head he moves to climb back onto the docks.

In all honesty, he’s had worse experiences falling off ships.  This little tumble beats falling to the deck with a hole in his chest, if only for the presence of the drow.  Oh that’s cheesy.

The chill of the afternoon seems to cut to his bones as he joins Essek in the shade of a nearby building.  With a grin he opens his mouth -- and pauses as the drow carefully plucks a tendril of seaweed from his hair.

“ Thanks.  What, uh -- what brings you here?  Always a pleasure to see you.  I promise I don’t usually fall from the crow’s nest like that. “

ESSEK  ASKS     :     [ TEND ]     --     sender begins to care for the receiver’s injuries.

there  are  very  few  people  that  astrid  lets  near  her  when  she’s  hurt .     normally ,  she  cares  for  it  herself  --  this  injury  is  out  of  her  reach .     though  this  does  not  stop  her  from  trying ,  twisting  her  body  to  reach  the  wound  on  her  side ,  towards  her  back . . . and  stretching  the  injury  further .          “ scheiße , ”          she  hisses  to  herself ,  closing  her  eyes  against  the  pain  --  when  she  opens  them  again ,  @.fallenprince  has  moved  closer ,  and  her  dark  eyes  consider  him  for  a  long  moment ,  attempt  to  read  his  expression .     gaze  moves  between  essek ,  her  injury ,  back  to  essek  --  and  she  gives  him  a  stiff  nod  and  moves  her  arm  out  of  the  way ,  not  asking  for  assistance  with  words ,  but  knowing  that  she  needs  it  even  so .

   And here he was, thinking he’d been subtle about it.  Said smile on Mollymauk’s face falters for a moment as he considers his response.  Perhaps he’d underestimated Essek, how much he really saw.  Perhaps he’d been letting his guard down a little too often.

The tiefling stretches his arms over his head in an attempt to maintain his nonchalance as he walks by the drow’s side.  “ Hard to keep up a front when you’re trying to bring about peace.  If I’m honest, I feel a little unqualified for this.  Don’t know the first thing about stopping a war. “

It’s not a lie, but not the entire truth.  Essek doesn’t need to know about the other things right now, though.  Not the dreams, nor the gaps in his memory.  That could come later.

Who wants to see the new  Mystic Messenger Movie with me :3???

This is a movie poster I created for my graphics class.(since it was project i had to do). I thought some people will like it. Also kinda sad I messed up at the bottom. But it's a simple fix. Idk how I missed that .-.)

  This isn’t what he wants to talk about.  Since he started sailing again, accompanied by the eager crew of the Nein Heroez, there’s been little time for Fjord to enjoy a peaceful moment in Nicodranas.  The last thing he wants to talk about over drinks with Essek are the consequences of his own actions.  They already take up enough space in his head.

It might help to speak them aloud, though.

With a heavy sigh the half-orc nods & takes a healthy swig to prepare himself.  “ Right.  So.  You happen to hear anything about Uk’otoa?  Maybe a false serpent? “
