UNLESS U ARE TALKING ABOUT ACTUAL ARTHURIAN LEGENDS? in which case i commend you for your bravery and strength of character. and do you have any titles to recommend cause i’m interested in all of it but i have no idea how to start or if it’s like a lot of books or one book or not a book at all or anything! i don’t know. thank u for reading
OH I JSUT SAW THIS VASDJKFLHDA yeah im talking about the actual legends . AND YES of course . i thinkt he best place to start is le mort d’arthur. u can find retellings of it in modern english with a lot of the . stupid unnecessary shit cut out cus malory is a complete weirdo. from there i say just pick a knight and read as many legends as u can about them until you find another one that seems interesting and reading the major tales for them and so on and so forth.
best places to start if u just wanna learn about one knight at a time is prollyyyy
tristan - tristan and isolde (gottfrieds telling is my FAVE hes so funny)
gawain - he has a lot but gawain and the green knight i hear is really good. i have it i should just read that right now its not long
lancelot - theres SO MUCH for him... lancelot knight of the cart is supposed to be neat. the entire lancelot-graal/vulgate cycle collection is SO GOOD... if u want just a snip find a copy of lancelot and the lord of the distant isles its the book of galehaut but modernized and . galehaut is so good iw ill never forgive malory for basically cutting him from lancelots story. bitch.
u can also just start with something like Perceval or something in the grail quest line of legends!! le mort d’arthur covers it but i think the verse Perceval goes deeper into it but im gonna be real i think the grail quest is kinda boring so i havent read much of it
