This is Fallout's Yao Guai

In story, these mutant bears were named by the descendants of Chinese interment prisoners from World War III.

As "yāo guài" is apparently a real world term for a spirit or monster creature. Which makes sense, since it's written "妖怪", which just happens to also be the Japanese kanji for "yokai".

But there's a lot of mutant animals in fallout. Why give that specific name to the bears?

Because in the wasteland, you're the pic-a-nic basket.

Meanwhile in Fallout 4 land, Ana’s been working on Far Harbor s’more, which always seems happy to provide eerie scenery. The second two pics are from fixing up Echo Lake Lumber Mill. I want to do a Hollywood movie studio outdoor sets kind of thing in the open area outside the building but my attention span is all over the place so that’s still on the drawing board. The building is somewhat restored at least and quite livable for its four local inhabitants plus a doctor transferred in from the Commonwealth.
