Fallout 4 Companions: Scaring them
Tucking themselves neatly around the corner Sole prepared to jumpscare Danse, who’s echoing voice could be heard drawing closer. Perhaps spooking a man in a huge set of power armor was a bad idea, but it was too late now; Danse was only getting closer.
“I hardly think that would be an effective-”
His sentence was cut short by Sole revealing themselves with a loud shout, jumping in front of the Paladin. Almost instantly his fists shot upwards, a small yelp leaving his lips as he prepared himself to swing in defense. Haylen, who was walking beside him, nearly booked it in fear.
“Woah, it’s just me!”
They blurted out, nearly toppling over with laughter as Danse lowered his hands. He didn’t expect himself to be so caught off guard. Though his face looked stern a deep blush was already creeping up his neck.
“That was extremely inappropriate, solider.”
“You’re just mad because i totally got you.”
Sole bit back, grinning widely.
Sole had planted themselves behind the front door to Piper’s home, remaining silent as they waited for their prey to reach the perfect position. It didn’t take very long before she came rushing in with an armful of folded newspapers.
“BOO!”
They shouted, closing the door in the process.
Piper let out a loud scream, managing to drop every single paper she was holding. She was ready to attack when she realized it was only Sole. Piper’s hands flew to her chest as she tried to regain her composure.
“Jeez Blue! Why would you do that?!”
Sole’s laughter soon filled the room, only to be silenced with a decently firm punch in the arm. Before they had time to complain Piper was already picking up the papers.
“Help me out, will you?”
“You should’ve seen the look on your face.”
“Oi, Sole do you know where my other shoe is?”
Cait was trying to get ready for the day, but Sole was suddenly nowhere to be found and neither was her shoe. Little did she know both Sole and the shoe were crouched behind the bed, just waiting for Cait to get closer.
“We don’t have time for these stupid games! I’ve got things to do!”
She was grumbling a series of swears under her breath as she wandered just a bit too close to the bed. Sole saw their opportunity and grabbed Cait’s ankle, shouting loudly at the same time.
“WHAT THE FUCK-”
Cait yanked her foot back, ready to stomp the culprit, only to see the idiot that grabbed her was none other than Sole. That made her calm down a little.
“Don’t go around doin’ stupid shite like that unless you’re tryin’ to get hurt.”
She bent down quickly to snatch her shoe, sitting on the edge of the bed to both put it on and catch her breath.
“C’mon, Cait that was pretty good!”
Decked out in a brand new disguise, glasses included, Deacon felt pretty good about himself and the mission him and Sole were about to go on. The only problem is he wasn’t sure where Sole had gone in the time it took him to put the disguise on.
“Hey uh, boss? Where’d you go?”
He cluelessly wandered around the hide out, searching for the person who was standing just around the corner he was approaching.
“BOO!”
“AH!”
Though it was impossible to see the fear in his eyes, the way his body curled back was a good enough indication he had actually gotten spooked. However the second he realized it was Sole he calmed down, casually throwing his hands in his pockets.
“Just testing my reflexes. Yup, still got it.”
He stretched his legs slightly, desperately trying to play it off.
“Oh yeah, totally. Not scared or anything.”
Sole played along, chuckling slightly.
Sole thought they were being pretty slick, hiding around the side of the bookcase. X6 knew exactly where they were though, and even though it was incredibly stupid he pretended to not know where they were. Mostly because he knew if he didn’t play along he’d be subjected to sulking for the remainder of the mission.
“Oh dear, I am afraid I haven’t the slightest clue where they might be.”
He slowly walked around the bookcase to which Sole jumped out exactly when he expected them to.
X6 stared at them for a brief moment before finally speaking up.
“Can we go now? It’s beginning to get dark.”
Sole glanced around awkwardly, trying to brush off the embarrassing attempt.
The duo left the building silently. Sole only broke the silence once the building was out of sight.
“Did you know I was there the entire time?”
Despite his desperate attempts to appear brave Maccready was actually rather jumpy. Sole talking just a bit too loud made him flinch. So needless to say scaring him was definitely going to work.
“Hiding my jacket.. very funny, Sole.”
He had a gut feeling a jumpscare was coming. Sole was nowhere to be found, yet the bedroom door was conveniently cracked open.
Maccready swallowed thickly, slowly entering the room. The second he entered Sole jumped out from against the wall, grabbing his shoulders.
He screeched loudly, scrambling away from them and towards the bed.
Now out of breath, and slightly frazzled he looked up to see Sole wearing his jacket, laughing loudly.
“Haha, you got me. Now give me my shi- stuff back.”
“General, I just received news that a settlement- general?”
Upon entering Sole’s home he had expected to see them, yet they were nowhere to be found. He could’ve sworn they said they’d be there.
“Well shoot.”
Preston made his way to a small table Sole was using as a desk. He began to leave a note when Sole exited the bathroom, trailing back into the living room. Seeing Preston with his back turned gave them a genius (completely evil) idea.
Sole quickly crept up, grabbing his back while shouting.
“Shit-”
He flung the paper off the table as he turned around, his eyes wide.
“General, I... that wasn’t very funny.”
Nick and Sole had been working on a case together for the past few hours. His joints were beginning to get stiff so he had opted for a short walk to stretch out, leaving Sole to finish up their paperwork. This was a terrible idea.
The moment he left Sole instantly found a good hiding spot, which was under his desk. They waited patiently for the synth to return, which took just a few moments.
“Sole?”
He called out, glancing around the room. They weren’t at their desk where he had left them.
“Huh. They must’ve went for a walk too.”
Nick made his way back to his desk, pulling out the chair to sit in it. It was only then that he spotted Sole, who was now jumping out to scare him.
It was enough to make him stumble back a bit, his hands flying up in a defensive manner.
“You trying to give an old bot a heart attack?!”
“Just keeping you on your toes, Nicky.”
Hancock had the day off, which meant he was going to spend it completely high off his ass. Which is exactly the state he was in as he sprawled himself out on the couch, his head falling back. His eyes had closed, though he was mostly just enjoying himself rather than sleeping.
Earlier that day he had invited Sole to come enjoy some Jet with him, though they claimed they might be late.
As they quickly entered the building they went straight for the stairs, running up them as quickly as possible. They came to a halt when they noticed the Mayor. It would be incredibly cruel to scare him, but it would also be incredibly funny.
Sole cautiously moved towards the couch, reaching out to grip both sides of Hancocks face.
At the feeling of smooth skin against his cheeks he sighed out contently. It had to be Sole.
Before he had a chance to open his eyes to confirm they quickly shouted, shaking his head around slightly.
It took a solid moment to process what had happened, but once he managed to grasp it Hancock shot up, letting out a slight shout. He took a moment to shake it off before turning to look at Sole, who was now doubling over with laughter.
“Now that was just cold blooded, sunshine.”
