my review of the first 3 horus heresy books
I don't know if Graham McNeill is bad at writing manipulative behavior or if he wanted to make it painfully obvious so we, the reader, can clearly see what's going on. And I know it's difficult to write hyper-intelligent beings when you're limited by your own standard human intelligence.
But False Gods is just scene after scene of someone doing Manipulation for Dumb Babies 101 shit and everybody falling for it hook line and sinker, so the result is: all of your characters look like idiots and I'm yelling at my screen.
EREBUS: my lord he called you a bitch
HORUS: a bitch?? I will go to that moon to kill him, I will go to that moon right now!!
EREBUS: oh no my lord don't go to that moon nooo
HORUS: You can't stop me, I'm going to that moon, how dare you expect me to let him call me a bitch!
EREBUS: you are right my lord I am an idiot, of course you have no choice, otherwise you would be a bitch
HORUS: FUUUUUCK GET THE SHIPS READY
IGNACE: ...I think Erebus is lying to get Horus to go to that moon
GARVIEL: are you saying my lord is not a perfect genius? Ignace. Ignace you sound insane.
I'm going nuts. This is absurd.
Truly astounding that this is the level of manipulation Erebus used to pull this off
I know he's short on time and Horus is hallucinating & half dead but like. Also, embarrasing level of play for Horus to fall for. I know he's overly confident & pridefull but still
quick scene redraw :3
The Horus Heresy is a Comedy, actually.
I swear Tarik is growing on me. The narrator also does a wonderful job of making him sound almost jovial. That and the sass. The snark. *chef's kiss*

I've heard some theories suggesting that Bubble is a fragment remainder of what use to be left of Abel before Caine consumed him.
That certainly would explain why Bubble speaks more independently for himself, and even says and does stuff to rile Caine up.
On that note, there is also the theory that Caine was the blue dot and Abel (or Bubble) was the red dot. If that's the case, could this mean we might get a situation similar to Igor and Yaldabaoth from Persona 5?
