My Big Brother & I || Drew and False (AU)
Niichan always seems to be there when Drew is down...
The sun was illuminating down on a tree near a shady spot of a local preschool. There was a little girl who was currently puffing her cheeks, gripping the edge of her backpack's straps while looking around. The atmosphere was filled with other noisy kids that were being picked up by their parents or guardians. They were all giving sweet smiles and producing cute laughter but unfortunately, this girl was not pleased at all.
"They said they'd be here..." she pouted.
Kudo Drew tapped the edge of her foot, crossing her tiny arms while letting her cheeks puff more in a stubborn manner. She was waiting for her mother or even her father to pick her up but neither of them had showed up. Drew glanced down at her Mickey Mouse watch and noticed that it was already fifteen minutes since they were dismissed. Ayumi and Haruka were normally here by now.
With teachers on patrol to keep watch, she sighed solemnly and looked down at the ground. Somehow the small child knew this was going to happen and she had grown to accept the fact that her parents weren't always going to be there for her. Her bangs covered her eyes while she hid away her face to not reveal her tears. Drew's cute fingers began to wipe away the tears that were sliding down her puffed cheeks, sleeves rubbing all over her face.
As the number of children was dwindling down to lower numbers, Drew was beginning to feel lonely on the inside. The wind took her short hair into a gentle flow, letting her feel the breeze upon her skin as she continued to wait. The child's hope was beginning to wither like a dying flower. However, what she didn't know was that her parents didn't forget her at all. Instead, they were sending someone else in their place to come pick her up from preschool.
Hopefully, this would give Drew a nice surprise in return.
"... Drew wishes someone would come right now..." she wished to herself.
