There he was, locked down in the deepest pits of Hell with the worst sinners in history, never to see any light ever again. Even Leon knew he didn’t deserve this. To him, it felt freezing cold, so much so any breath he took felt like ice shards in his body. It was painful and lonely. An eternity of this was hard for him to swallow.
Using his powers, he conjured up a flute from the shadows and gently placed his fingers over the pads. There was a faraway land he heard about in stories where songs held power within the right hands. He knew only one melody, but it was the only one he needed. A melody that could change time...
He began playing it, just barely working through the frozen numbness to get through the tune. Once he finished, the world around him seemed to fade, and he closed his eyes, praying it took him far enough back.
When he opened them, he was sitting on the Emperor’s bed, the man still asleep after their first night together, hangover and all. Even the cute little friendly snake had slithered over, greeting him with a head boop.
It didn’t escape him and Lou and the rebels were also still safe. He smiled warmly and rubbed the snake’s head.
“It’s a new dawn, little guy.”
