For a century she waited…
To think of all those who had died to his wicked hand…her beloved friends…her family…the Kingdom. For a century their deaths weighed upon her mind and heart and oh how long she had fought and fought and fought. It seemed nearly a whimsical dream to be upon fields of green and ruined remains strewn about. To feel breeze cool to fair skin.
The question had spilled from her lips, hands clutched together over her chest. She waited in her quiet anticipation ( the wait for his answer seemed to draw longer than a century ) and oh how such simple words could move her heart.
She couldn’t hold it back any longer. How hot her tears felt against round cheeks, corners of her eyes tinged in red. And yet that smile ( golden in its gentle light ) pulled wider upon her lips. Oh how long she has waited to hear her name from his lips. To see his smile once again…
He remembered…
He remembered her…
She still had someone…she didn’t lose everyone…
❝ Link… ❞ His name spoken with only care, adoration, and relief. And toward him she stepped with breath hitched, voice thick and wavering. Another shaky step forward and certainly her body would give out underneath her. ❝ I-I’ve waited a century for you to say that…❞
And not even seconds passed before her arms were thrown around Link, fingers clutching desperately at azure fabric as hot tears spilled onto his tunic. To feel him— alive and well and warm… He wasn’t dead…he remembered her.
❝I’ve mi-missed you so much! ❞
The color of cobalt jewel’s stared at her as he watched her expression morphed. Red began to tint her eyes as tears swelled, muddling her colors with pools of shimmering liquid. A tear split over, followed by one, than two, before it seemed as if a water fall was broken loose. Yet that smile richer than gold formed upon beautiful silk pink lips. He committed it to memory, wanting to preserve such a precious image of pure relief that graced her lips.
‘Please Hylia let this be one thing I never forget...’
Beautiful voice that couldn’t even compare to the beauty of a Rito’s song filled the air. Shaking with the suppressed sob before, she threw her arms out to him. She could feel the weight of her against his chest as hands tugged against the fabric around him. Instantly wrapping his arms back around her to pull her close into an embrace. Face leaning down to bury slightly into golden hair that smelt as beautiful as the single silent princess in his satchel.
Soon his own tears caught up as his arms wrapped around her a bit tighter. Browns knitting tightly as they just stood their briefly, him enjoying her touch once more,
“I... I missed you as well. I was so afraid... you would be like the others...”
