I apologize if this has been asked before.

I had been imagining our choice of plushy would be of relevance when it comes to our familiar. After all, this is an IF, and having limited options for how such a relevant character as a familiar can be, is not only to be expected but recommended. Because of that, I was quite content of having a dog plushie, since while I'm a cat owner in real life, I love the idea of canine companions in fiction.

But, as I saw the ask about the plushies other characters would have... It was immediately clear that their plushy and their familiars don't match.

So, that begs the question: are plushies and familiars related, at least for MC? Or they are completely separate?

Also, will we be able to choose a familiar, or would it be chosen for us based on our stats? On one hand, the former seems the most common strategy for an IF. But the latter, while restrictive, also feels fulfilling and interesting (being a result of our own choices). Of course, the latter is also way harder to code, so maybe you never considered it.

Also, I just would like the idea of a canine companion. Either a dog or a wolf. I love wolf companions in fantasy specifically. It would be an interesting contrast to Ash's familiar being a feline, methinks.

Finally, a question which answer I probably know or should know: What breed is a dog plushy supposed to be? Or is left to the reader's imagination? Maybe you described it and I forgot, in which case I apologize. That said, my own personal plushy, Orion, I imagine him being a golden retriever. Which is also cute because my MC, Liam (I'm sure many of us named our MC's Liam), is also blonde. So I like to think my MC's plushy is an extension of himself in a way.

I already know where I'm going with Mc regarding that, and you'll have to wait until the end of the first book to get all the answers to your questions - I won't say any more because I'll go into spoiler territory!

I don't have a specific breed in mind for a Plushie dog but my own Liam has a golden retriever dog.
