Food as an horror element is so underused in supernatural when they had so many opportunities to do something utterly horrifying with it.
Like for example: Gluttony. They had the opportunity to make him filthy, gorging himself in whatever he could get his hands on, humans, rot, money, etc…, make him a figure of excess. Even physically they could have made him sickeningly fat or skinny, have him bursting at the seams or always float in his clothes. But instead we get a random balding dude (he should have toupet !).
Famine was spectacular although criminally underused like most horsemen or deadly sins
