Chapter 1. Blue Eyes
Theo looks at his reflection in the mirror, smoothing nervous his suit.
Today was his first day of working as the new bodyguard at Geyer and Co., one of the biggest Industries Company in the world and this makes every nerve in his body to boil. He is fairly convinced he was going to trip and fall in front of Mr. Geyer in the first seconds he is going to see him.
He wants to make a good impression, he really does, but he can’t while he feels his legs like they are made of jell-o
“Come on Theo, get yourself together! It’s not the first time you’re doing this”, he tells himself, taking a deep breath before putting on his sunglasses and checking if his hair looks perfect, again.
The ride to the building, that will be his future work place, was a combination between singing the songs from the radio and repeating some lines that he should say when he will see Mr. Geyer. He looked for a parking spot for 15 minutes, cursing and grumbling the whole time. Well, this day started bad, he hopes something good will happen eventually.
He shouldered the door of the large building with the name of the company on it.
“Raeken!”
He almost spilled the coffee he got in his right hand when he herd the voice calling his name. He turns, seeing one of his ex-supervisors grinning large at him. She was exactly as he remembered. Her long brown hair falling in smooth waves over her clothed shoulders, her glimmering brown eyes that light up every time he smile one of those smiles of hers that were so bright that made you smile just seeing it.
“Tracy! Oh my God, you scared the shit out of me”, Theo breathes out, trying to calm his racing heart.
“Good to see you too Theo”, she winks at him, approaching him with a firm step, her hands clasped behind her, her posture intimidating. She may be short, but she can kick your ass within seconds. Before he could react he was caught into a bonecrashing hug.
Theo laughed breathy, patting her back. He almost forgot how strong she was. He kind of missed her hugs. This remembers those times when he was in the booth camp and Tracy was training him. They became friends immediately and that it’s a big deal for Theo because he didn’t have friends, that if his cousin wasn’t counting as being a friend. They shared a lot of things, secrets, food... kisses and even the bed. That before Theo realised he wasn’t as straight as he thought he was. And what happened between them didn’t affect at all their relationship. In fact, Theo was the one that introduced Tracy to her actual husband.
Someone behind them cleared their throat, making the two split apart, both redressing their posture into a professional one.
“Mr. Raeken, Mrs. Stewart”, the man in front of them said with a smile. Theo analyzed him, figuring that this must be Mr. Geyer. He looks like he is in his mid 40’s, some white strands of hair itching between the brown ones. His caramel like eyes radiating warmth and strength, showing who is the one that built this entire empire. His grey suit making Theo jealous for looking so perfect without making any efforts while he stood one hour in the mirror trying to look impeccable.
“Mr. Geyer”, Tracy salutes professional.
“Tracy, how is Josh? Is he feeling better?”, Mr. Geyer asks the brown haired woman, his warm smile still on his lips.
“He’s better sir. Thanks for asking”, Tracy replied, returning the smile. Mr. Geyer just winks before directing his attention towards Theo.
“Ah, Mr. Raeken, I hope you received the news”, Mr. Geyer said, clapping his hands together. Confusion and anxiety flows his body. News. What news? Oh God, he screwed up! He was sure this was going to happen.
“Uhm, I’m sorry, no one informed me. What news?”, he asks trying to keep his voice steady.
“Oh, I’m sorry for that. Don’t worry, from now on I’m going to inform you personally in this case I see no one dealt with it”, Mr. Geyer murmurs, his eyes rolling, scanning the place as if he is looking for someone or waiting for someone. “But anyways. The news were that you are not going to guard Mrs. Geyer but my son. He got into some troubles lately and he needs someone to keep him in check for a while. I am trusting you that you will keep him safe”, he added, his attention back on Theo.
Theo’s mouth hangs open, trying to say something, but nothing comes out. He really didn’t see that coming...
“Don’t worry Mr. G, he is one of the best agents I’ve ever trained. He is going to great”, Tracy said smirking, her hand stroking lightly his shoulder.
As he opened again his mouth to say something, this time actual words preparing to be spoken, but he is interrupted.
“Oh, come on Liam! This is not going to be bad! Think of him as a friend that is with you everywhere”, a brown haired woman was saying while approaching the little group, talking to someone that was walking behind her.
“Liam...”, the woman hissed, but stopped as he saw the three persons. Her eyes lended on Mr. Geyer and her face softens, as a small smile tugged at her lips. Her icy blue eyes glimmered as she leaned forward placing a kiss on the man’s lips. So, Theo though, this must be Mrs. Geyer.
The person behind Mrs. Geyer steps forward. Theo felt his lungs as they stopped producing air as he literally watched the picture of the meanening of the word ‘perfect’ stood in front of him. A short boy, not much shorter than Theo, ducked a hand through his long brown hair, looking arownd him bored. A pair of full, kissable, rosey lips made Theo stare shamelessly at them.
He thought that his lips were perfect, but what attracted his attention the most were those icy wonderful blue eyes that matched his mother’s.
And all of a sudden the picture of perfect has been crushed in the moment word came out of his mouth.
“Whitch one of you morons is going to play babysitting with me?”
