I’ve created probably one of my most interesting thiam AU’s yet.

Yall are gonna be surprised but follow me, let’s scrap the dread doctors for a second. What if Theo never disappears Or kills Tara - what if he sticks around and instead of the Scott + stiles power duo we have a TRIO??

Now the semantics on if Theo is a werewolf or coyote are neither here nor there- He could’ve been bit long before Scott and hid it OR maybe the dread doctors were there all along but never disclosed themselves so he has to deal with these changes on his own.

Or maybe he’s human, honestly who knows; there’s so many options.

What I DO know is that this Theo is just as much of an asshole as our Theo because being ill as a child made him a full blown cynic. Where Scott’s an optimist and Stiles is curious; Theo is a logic ridden pessimist.

Where stiles learns not to trust people ; Theo NEVER trusted anyone except Scott and stiles.

Where Scott immediately shares all the weird shit going on with him after getting bit- Theo keeps everything to himself.

His own way of helping isn’t the most compassionate but he’s there. Even if he struggles to show it- he cares.

He begrudgingly lets stiles rant about his ten year plan to get Lydia to fall in love with him and he gives Scott a Pep talk before he meets Allison’s family.

(He may or may not have stolen it from a movie but he’s TRYING)

Then there’s the nogitsune and he and Scott are terrified they’re going to lose their best friend but fights ensue because Theo isn’t like Scott, he doesn’t wear his emotions all over for everyone to see.

And then Allison is gone and he and stiles have to show up three hours early to get Scott ready for a funeral he couldn’t be prepared for in a million years. Theo has to practically shove stiles into the funeral because the guilt is coming off him in waves and Scott is too full of grief to notice.

When Scott bites his first beta and they find out the kid had IED - Theo was less concerned than he was curious.

Liam was too soft at times, especially for someone with so much rage inside. He followed Scott around like a lost puppy and preened at Stiles’ affection and mother hen antics.

But Theo wasn’t sure he had any room left in his heart for another soft thing, he had so many he protected already.

Then the annoying fuck punched him in the face during a full moon gone wrong and surely, he must have a little room left.

It’s by complete accident that their hearts beat in tandem, a complete coincidence when Liam’s fits are few and far between.

The others pretend to not notice how during pack movie nights, Liam no longer sits on the floor by Scott’s feet but instead leans against Theo’s legs.

If Theo goes to every lacrosse game and sits on the bleachers during practice ; that’s his business.

a real argument they’ve had

Adding to my baby au, I feel like Thiam would absolutely talk to any child, but also their own like their kid was… just a little adult human sometimes. They don’t baby talk, they just talk. Like so casual, their kiddo is just a little human.

Liam calling their kid bro, talking to him like he’s just one of his close friends. Asking what kiddo wants to eat and answering, “hell yeah, I’m down for some yogurt and fruit, why not”. Casual bumps when kiddo does something achievement worthy.

Theo managing meltdowns with judgmental stares and their kid just quits the crocodile tears almost instantly. He never overreacts with injuries so neither does the little one. He’ll full on biff it, falling flat on the floor and Theo and Liam will just be like, “damn, you good?” and kiddo is just like… up and trucking a full second later. This isn’t to say they don’t take injuries without concern, they just stay calm cause honestly nothings worse than a fussy kiddo and not actually knowing if something’s really hurt or not and they’re pretty tuned into when they need to go to ouchie fixing mode:

Little guy is lowkey one of most emotionally intelligent little kids anyone’s met. He babbles, but lowkey his babbles are almost coherent. He practically holds conversations with everyone around him, especially his dads. A mile high differences from the very babied, very coddled Eli Hale.

thiam but theo fell hard and FAST in s5.

liam was the pinnacle of power. his anger and strength were dangerous, and theo saw it as a weapon to be harnessed. he was young and impressionable too; a perfect victim for theo's manipulation

he was almost disappointed when all his plans seemed like they required his death. liam would have been incredibly useful. but alas, theo couldn't have everything he wanted. he settled on the idea of putting liam's heart in a jar right next to his own on the top shelf in the doctor's storage room.

but when his plan goes wrong he's almosttt glad, because it meant he still got a chance to keep liam. and sure, liam hated him after, but theo had liam's girlfriend on his side and was well used to playing the long con. he could wait.

I'm incredibly tempted to write a 10 things I hate about you Thiam au. It would work so well. Alec pays Theo to date Liam for some reason that I'll figure out if I actually write it. But the whole movie works so well for them. It would be damn near perfect.

I'll think this out more later. Flesh it out more.
