No. 6~ Blog Posts for Algernon
One of the best parts of writing a world famous blog is how people are super excited about new material and how everyone waits with bated breath for the next post, and how that level of excitement never diminishes, no matter how much time elapses between posts.
One of the best parts of writing an up-and-coming (read: "categorically obscure") blog is that people will inquire about your planned blogging schedule, but they will do so in passing and the frequency of these inquiries quickly diminishes from "maybe once or twice" to "literally never." This is a good thing, for someone who requires zero outside motivation to be a regular blogger. But it is unadulterated kryptonite for someone who has "Taking Initiative" problems in the creative writing sector.
I say all of this (Are you still with me? WAKE UP) because nearly eight months elapsed between this post and the previous one. No one is to blame here. You are not to blame, because you are just a faceless orb which represents my vast, dedicated readership, so it would be unfair and I believe scientifically impossible to blame something like this on an abstraction. I personally am not to blame because I am incapable of making mistakes, and that is that.
But it is not to say that I do not foster some remorse for the fact that this tragic lapse of time has occurred, and that we are all at least seven months older and absolutely no months wiser, due to a series of freak cosmic coincidences which cleaved the bond between you and a hypothetical improved you, who might have read what should have been written in this blog. If I could have predicted it, I would have stopped it, but I am not some kind of clairvoyant superhuman. I am just a regular old human with zero human flaws.
With the past behind us, and something like 300 days left ahead of us before the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar tick tocks Ke$ha-style down to zero and we all either perish in a lake of fire or wake up on December 21 and look around sheepishly because we've made total idiots of ourselves with this whole Mayan apocalypse thing, with ALL OF THAT ahead of us, I am confident that we can work together and get back on track here, because that is what OBSCURE BLOGGING IS ALL ABOUT.
"Overconfident rambling is tantamount to effective communication, because I said so."
