Do people on here actually look at people's screennames and read every single tag before they decide to have any kind of communication with somebody when they post something in their fandom or interest? That baffles me. Curating your experience online to such degree that you never talk to anybody that's not inside your echo chamber? And I'm not talking about fighting about politics! I'm just talking about, like, slightly different takes on the same ship!

Apparently I offended a bunch of people by starting a conversation wherein I *gasp* answered a rhetorical question that I didn't realize was rhetorical and only meant for people to talk about their annoyances amongst themselves in their echo chamber, and how dare I step inside that conversation and actually answer the question "how can people actually like this?" or whatever the question is?! I was just giving an alternative POV extremely civilly and trying really hard to make sure that everything sounded non-provoking, and I got told I came in there specifically to argue. I just don't understand why people come and be like, "you read the tags, you read the name, and then you came in here and decided to fight with us?". Like, no; I did neither of those things. I did not read all your multifarious tags, I just read the first three or so to check fandom and pairing; and I'm not going to pay attention to everybody's name on here when half the names are like fluffbunnyfkr or bakersdozen37, I'm just going to have conversations with people... and if it looks like you're actually seeking somebody's opinion and they then give it, then you shouldn't actually jump all over them.

I just don't understand why they're posting questions if they don't want to talk to people. Am I just insane? This is specifically aDoctor Who fandom thing where people apparently think it's not okay to discuss their ship at all... and I get that I haven't been here for very long so I might be triggering Old War Wounds while I'm learning my way around... but I'm just new and trying to understand people's POVs. But apparently that's illegal or something.
