I have this headcanon where Yugi and Atem compliment each other's outfits by going, "I would look so hot in that."

Kaiba takes care of all of Atem’s clothing needs.

Well, when I say needs.

This has the upside for Yugi that all he has to do is vaguely compliment Atem’s attire to find a not-so-mysterious package waiting for him somewhere the next day.

Sometimes it doesn’t even take that long.

They’re out one evening when the wind picks up. Yugi’s only got a thin old hoodie (not that the hood ever gets up over his massive hair) and the cold goes straight through it. Atem’s looking excellent in some smart-but-cosy dark coat that looks like it’s come straight from a fashion magazine. Probably because it has. He jokingly says that he’d look pretty good in a coat like that, and the next moment finds it draped around his shoulders.



“Yes, you do.”



Atem won’t take it back and insists he’s always warm. Yugi thinks this is the biggest lie he’s ever dared to tell him, but lets Atem keep his pride.



So it’s only natural that when Atem glances at Yugi in the reflection of the mirror he’s preening in and says that he’d look good in a collar, that Yugi unbuckles the one he’s wearing and slides it around Atem’s neck.

“Yes, you do.”

“That’s not what I meant.”

“It’s what I meant.”

My god, could you IMAGINE glittery Atem? It's one of those ideas that sounds awesome in his head, he can see it perfectly, he's going to look as royal and god-like as he should. Right up until he obtains gold-tinted glitter, and it gets absolutely everywhere, and Yugi has a conniption because do you know how hard it is to get glitter out of rugs and carpets and clothes and hair and EVERYTHING? It is EVERYWHERE. After MONTHS he still finds it in his HAIR. Atem is banned from glitter.

“OK, yes you look amazing, BUT AT WHAT COST?!”

“At any cost.”
