lurantis lure in prey with their pretty, flower-like appearance, and are known for their beautiful, vivid coloring, and require a diligent trainer to maintain their brilliant colors — i tried to desaturate sqq's colors here to denote that no, he does not take good care of himself. on the other hand, floettes tend to take care of wilting flowers, and once they find a flower they like, they spend the rest of their life taking care of this flower.
ergo. when floette bing finds lurantis sqq, he decides that THIS is the flower he wants to spend the rest of his life taking care of.

you don't understand how passionately i feel about this idea specifically. BINGHE AS FLOETTE. WHICH GOD BLESSED ME WITH SUCH A BIG BRAIN??? it was a mental image i NEEDED to drag into real life. originally, i desperately wanted sqq to be florges, but i just could NOT get him to work with me. i was thinking bamboo florges, with a collar of bamboo leaves and stalks for horns or something, but it eventually became too much hassle. i went with the next best thing, and one of my personal close contenders for sqq as a pokemon: lurantis!! the moment i saw this pokemon i LOVED it. and the shiny variant being green was just fate acting in my favor. i did omit a bit too many details than i would have liked, but this is still my favorite one by far. look at them!!!! floette bingy with his white lotus!!! its so fucking cute I can't.

is it obvious that i didnt want to draw lakan's silly little hat? bc i really didnt lol
maomao and jinshi was the easy answer for bingqiu, ofc, but they never felt quite bingqiu enough for me. fengxian and lakan, tho, are acceptably unwell about each other. and the fact that the only faces lakan can see are both his wife and daughter sealed the deal. binghe wishes shizun's face was the only one he could see.
i love reading the tags on the reblogs for these, esp the ace attorney insert. this series is, in part, an excuse to draw for the fandoms that i love but have never drawn for before, so seeing fans of the crossover fandoms react to these warms my heart!

there is a wide grin on his diamond's face.
in an instant, the hand on his waist becomes firm and binghe shrieks as his world is twisted, clinging to his diamond with a death grip as he's lowered into a dip, his other leg instinctively shooting up as counterbalance. the rush goes to his head, and he finds laughter bubbling in his chest and spilling past his lips. he feels his diamond's smile pressed against his jaw, where he litters kisses indiscriminately, taking advantage of binghe's inability to pull away.
my diamond! binghe squeals, giggling uncontrollably.
pearl, shen qingqiu says, utter satisfaction coloring his tone. my pearl.

the diamonds gift lbh to sqq with the goal of making him happy. unlike pink diamond, who only really bonds with pearl after earth, sqq is extremely pleased with his cute, fluffy, diligent pearl! he fucks off to earth so that his pearl never has to answer to others again, and lbh takes exorbitant delight in cooking and caring for his diamond. one day, binghe oh so innocently asks sqq what a wife is. sqq dies inside lol.
white diamond points out obsession as pearl's trait, but binghe way outfreaks her bc he would NEVER let his diamond have a baby with a soundcloud rapper.

some days, the only thing that keeps them going is the thought of after.
after the war, where will they go? where will they sleep? would sleep evade them, chased away by grief, or washed away by cups of sweet wine?
i would conquer the beast palace, luo binghe whispered conspiratorially, a grin inching onto his face. ease relations, make reparations, build better roads. maybe add a festival or two.
shen qingqiu raised a brow, wry with amusement. oh? how progressive of you. whatever for?

shen qingqiu laughs — a bright, beautiful thing. binghe finds himself leaning towards him, helplessly drawn in.
so ambitious, shen qingqiu teases. what room is there for my own dreams, when yours are so lofty?
you'll just have to follow me, then, binghe says invitingly. toeing the line. seeing how far he can step before being scolded. it doesn't take long— an elbow digs lightly into his ribs, but the shine in shen qingqiu's eyes is one of laughter, not reproach.

part 2 of my fun little series where i plug in bq into some of my fandoms, we have ace attorney!! i was struggling a bit for this one, until i pictured binghe as apollo and it all clicked. such a cutie patootie pie.
idk HOW they become romantically involved in this hypothetical AU, but for the most part, i'd say the shoe fits! kristoph gavin is a shady, corrupt mentor figure to a sweet and earnest young apollo justice. perfect vessel to transmigrate into! although i will say, i kinda wish i thought of sqq as mia and bing as phoenix a little sooner. that would've been kinda cute. i also considered bing as kazuma and sqq as ryuu in dai gyakuten saiban, but i gave up on that for kristoph and apollo. but the character arc fits — he starts as an attorney, but later becomes a prosecutor and blackens and needs ryuu to smack sense into him. its perfect!
just wanna say, bing would've been so cute in the masked disciple outfit. im lowkey so mad i didn't go with that instead. MAY do an extra ace attorney day just for this.

doing a fun little series where i put bingqiu into some of my fandoms.
i wasn't really thinking "AU" when i made this, just bq in shuake's clothes, but it does somewhat work for an AU. peak lords as phantom thieves, demon emperor as detective prince. and sqq as misconceived delinquent? i love it.
TECHNICALLY, sqq narratively fits better as akechi because uh. interrogation room scene. fake death. but personality-wise, i think it's pretty spot on, particularly with bing as akechi. his mom died! he hates his dad! he likes this one freaky dude but dislikes the rest of his friend group. a gross oversimplification!
brief note for the people who miraculously have not stopped reading this post yet: god, i love persona 5. i love bingqiu. and drawing chibingqiu is always a surefire way to make me happy and get me to draw at the same time.
its hell week for me i fear, so it may take a while for the rest of this series to come out, but on my list i have: ace attorney, dbh, pokemon, hollow knight, rainworld, and more!
