Today I caught my three year old singing to herself.
What was she singing, you ask?
"somebody to love, somebody somebody, somebody to love"

You guys, yesterday my eleven year old son was telling me about drama in the Minecraft You Tube fandom. And he said, "well, do you know what shipping is?"
Oh my sweet child.
My toddler loves my Sam and Dean funkos. Unfortunately I may need to disown her for her ships, as she keeps making them kiss.
Yo, my fellow nerd & fandom parents!
I want to offer some additional types/genres/themes of writing classes on Outschool. I'm already offering horror writing and apocalypse collaborative world-building (and ending), plus a 1-hour vocabulary and writing habits class called Fiction Writing Crash Course!.
What kind of writing classes and for what age ranges would you like to see? What topics or themes would encourage you to sign your kid up for an online writing class?
Asked the boys this question: if you were a dragon, what would you hoard?
Older son: DS games. (Very matter of fact, no further discussion, goes back to playing current DS game.) Younger son: um, maybe a tuba? ("So, musical instruments?" "Yeah, mom...") This was prompted by the younger one watching the MLP FIM where Spike the dragon gets greedy and starts hoarding things... So, what would you hoard?
My teens have been slowly working their way into fandom over the past few years, and last night my 13 yr old outed herself as a Ciso/Caitlin shipper on The Flash (idk what that ship name is). And then she asked me if I have any ships from stuff we both like...
...and after my ten minute ramble on how much Lena Luthor is crushing on Kara in Supergirl and how Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers are my ultimate MCU pairing, she now thinks all my ships are gay. Which is ironic, because even though I do passively ship some slash and femslash, I’ve only ever written het fic.
Gave me something to think about. Like maybe I should try my hand at femslash at some point. And an internal debate about how much of my fandom life I should reveal to my kid...
I bought this t-shirt more than 20 years ago, but when I had kids I hid it in the bottom of a drawer until they were older. It still kind of freaks them out. I don't wear it in public when I'm with them. That would just be...sadistic.
