Every time I see a post on here about someone's parents being scandalised by fan fiction I am confronted with the fact my expirence with fic is so far from universal its kind of hilarious.
My mum has been reading and writing fan fic for my whole life.
She is the one who told me about fanfic.net back in the day but for what ever reason decided to leave out what any of the tags or filtering meant. Which lead me to be accidently reading Sam and Dean incest smut, at the ripe old age of 12 because I didn't know what smut or slash meant.
Even now she will beta read for me even if she isn't a part of that fandom. I haven't written smut but I know that if I did it wouldn't matter because I can pretty much guarantee she has wrote dirtier and more deranged things then I could ever think of.
Anyway shout out to the fandom parents who aren't shocked by your fic, just mildly disappointed by the lack of kink.
