I wish it was more acceptable to talk with other fans on a regular basis without being mutuals with them. Some of the people whose opinions I admire the most, and who I love talking to in general, post content about certain canon that I despise, and I wouldn't like being surprised by the content on my landing page when I open tumblr. But that doesn't mean anything I'm not super happy to actually interact with them and hear from them, and send them things! I would rather just be able to interact with them, and visit their blogs whenever I'm feeling up for it, rather than having content forced onto my dash. I feel like a unicorn, but I like to voluntarily seek out stuff whenever I feel like scrolling, and just keep a relatively blank and "safe" dash that effectively never has posts for stuff I dislike on it. And only has a few art-only blogs and the likes.
