UNPOPULAR OPINION: I have zero interest in climbing aboard the Ochiai Hate Train.

I don’t like him, he’s definitely a despicable person, and I don’t really want to to defend him though I do think he raises some valid points, is necessary for the story, and by the end of part 1 at least he becomes tolerable/neutral.

But I just don’t hate him at all and the huge raging hate boner fandom has for him is just...

Massive amounts of negativity even for a character I don’t care for is not fun to see. And I could live without the rape threats, let’s leave it at that.

Also today I learned Miyuki haters are a thing which I can’t even comprehend. Especially when the rationale is “how dare he take the spotlight away from Eijun.”

Like okay I think the Furuya hate is stupid but I can at least see where that comes from in terms of pitting him against Eijun.

But Miyuki is the whole reason Eijun came to Seidou??? Miyuki changed his entire world? EIJUN REALLY WANTS TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY HIM???? THEY’RE PARTNERS??????

I adore Eijun and I’m happy that he’s well-loved -- frankly I expected people to hate him more since he can be so obnoxious -- but I flat-out can’t understand this level of obsessive fanning, nor do I want to understand. It’s overly defensive to the point of being unnecessarily hostile.
