For the most part I refuse to engage in "kids these days" fandom discourse because I mostly think it's just people saying 13 year olds on Tiktok are RUINING EVERYTHING FOREVER and it's just not that deep but. There has to be something to be said for the way I've seen people act like they have to throw away their fandom after the first month of its release. I don't care in the slightest about proship/antiship discourse or anything like that but watching it is really funny because it's just people being so very determined to argue points that do not exist. Like everyone just has their own definition of the terms that's unique to them and no one else but they're also so determined to discourse about it. Recently been going really insane about characters who end up kind of hating each other, but can't fully extricate themselves from one another because of the Experiences they've been through. You used to love this person at one time, but you can't anymore because of what happened. The only person you can talk to about it is them. You want to tell someone what happened, anyone, but the only person who could fully understand is someone you hate. Or maybe you just want to hate them, but you can't, because you were there and you know what changed them, and maybe it changed you too. The person who understands you most in the world is someone you don't like anymore, and the person you understand most is someone you don't want to. Or whatever
