Elijah could feel his nerves wreaking havoc with his heart as he stood at the top of the aisle. The chattering of the crowd was silence almost at once as the fanfare started, and Elijah turned to see the doors open, revealing his soon-to-be wife standing at the other end. A smile spread over his face at the sight of her, despite the sudden realization that this was it.

Elijah stood outside her chambers as he waited for Elena to come to the door. He felt truly nervous. His mother had just informed him of the marriage, and had already told him the announcement was being sent out as he left. Still, he wanted to be the first one to tell her. He smiled softly as she came to the door.

“Elena. How are you?”
