DQ Writing prompt! #01
Half monsters!
We know there are monsters with human-like features in Dragon Quest such as the Cannibelle, monsters that used to be humans before something horrible happened to them (the latter being one of them), and following DQ V's standards, monsters can turn into humans if they wish to change for good! So half-monster people isn't as impossible as it seems when you first think about it.
How was that child born? A tragic love story? A disgrace that shouldn't ever happen and be mentioned again? Or what if that human was still more of a monster than they thought and their child was born with monster features and/or powers?
How would the child turn as they grew up? Any features that are definitely not human? Do they hide them because of how people would react or they proudly show them around? Do they have any monstrous desires or impulses that they have to hold back? What powers did they inherit? Do they have an aggressive behavior? Do they have a good relationship with normal monsters?
So much can be done! It would be a very original idea for creating a DQ IX oc, like a party member. In that case the protagonist, being a celestrian and all could have an effect on their attitude like scare the half-monster away, make them suspicious or earn their respect with more ease than other people?
