Stephen Strange (as so the name that he chose, taking his father’s last name and not being able to pronounce it was difficult enough so taking a common name was easier) was a half-elf from Baldur’s Gate who had decided to take a journey to hone his gift for the magical arts by making a pilgrimage across Faerun. As a half-elf, he always made it so that his stunted, pointed ears were hidden under his red cloak as often as he could to not scare anyone because of his facial hair. The two never sang together in harmony to commoners.
Currently, his studies had him residing in the city of Berdusk. It was a robust town that was slowly growing on him the more he made his trips from the inn to the merchant and to the library for the past 2 years. Perhaps he was meant to stay in this area. The sorcerer was contemplating continuing his journey to the Sunset Mountains just to see them glow as the legends have said, on the sunset when the planets aligned. Torn between his love for adventure and the lust for settling down, the routine went on for weeks.
One day, while at the library delving into a new shipment of books, his eyes wandered over to a newcomer to the town. She was by far as pretty as a purebred elf, but her ears were that of a human. Was she lucky to have those kinds of ears? Stephen whispered at the librarian and asked, “Who is she?”
