Hi brenda, I just finished reading Wandered here from far away. Ghosts of who I used to be was one of the earliest fics I read and absolutely loved. The sequel was absolutely beautiful, loved the way you continued their story in it . And the artwork by Jessielucid was stunning! Also I'm Indian and I lived in the city of Bangalore, while I was doing my masters. Even though Bucky's memory of Bangalore was sad and heartbreaking. It felt good to see an Indian city mentioned in a stucky fic! ♥♥

And honestly, I still can’t say enough great things about Jessie’s art.  I hit the jackpot getting paired with them, and the extra drawings they did for the story just...wow. 

Fun fact about Bangalore being in that scene: I needed a legit reason for Pierce to want to get the Winter Soldier to (spoiler) and the US/India tensions in the early 70s during Nixon’s administration were a great excuse. And I chose Bangalore because my brother-in-law’s been for business several times.  I’m sorry I didn’t give your city a better scene!!!  Next time!! <33

You people are talking about Steve's depression and that is making me so happy. I see so many fics dealing with Bucky's issues and recovery. Bucky deserves it but what about Steve, he is far from okay, I guess it's probably because we see a lot more of Bucky's sufferings in the movies, compared to that Steve's issues seem subtle. Einherjar and One Cloud Feels Lonely are the two fics that describe Steve's depression that I really liked. Thanks again for all the discussion on Steve's depression.

and yeah, that’s kind of how I see it too. I don’t think anyone ever intentionally ignores Steve’s side, I think it’s just something that’s not as upfront in a lot of people’s faces. So it’s a thing that can be overlooked. I don’t hold anyone responsible, nor am I angry at them. I’m just over here goin’ “gaiz, steeb iz sad”

And I can’t fault anyone for not wanting to do recovery fics. They take a lot emotionally out of someone. That’s why I haven’t touched mine in so long. I needed a break. hahaha

Description: Steve is, somehow, still alive when the fighting finally ends. Again. Which is good, everyone keeps telling him how good it is. And it’s not that he doesn’t agree, not that he didn’t want to make it through the latest round of horror. But, he’s starting to think that while he may not be dead, he’s not really alive either. He’s not sure he ever really was.Bucky is just the guy that lives a few doors down from Steve and occasionally nods at him when they pass in the corridor. That is until a mix up with the mail makes him wonder if he might be more, might be the spark he needs to actually start living. But, predictably things are never that simple and Bucky might be more than he seems.
