This year I'm working on a short story collection, building off a short story I wrote earlier this year. I have eight stories planned - we'll see how long that is - and I'm so excited to work on this cozy urban fantasy collection.
Characters
Ester - a 30-something aroace witch who uses she/her just for ease, Ester is a shed witch. She inherited the shelter from her parents and does her best to help the animals in her care.
Dom - a 30-something witch who didn't know he was a witch until he felt the pull to enter the shelter. A field witch, he's still learning how to use magic to grow tomatoes and really, really should tell his wife.
Dorothy - Ester's mother, a power witch who built a life around connecting the witch community after a series of attacks against familiars.
Witch Types
Shed witches - identified by their reptile familiars, these witches can shed their skin to take on other forms. More powerful witches can also transform objects.
Bone witches - bonded with canines, these witches are healers. Most deal with physical wounds, but several can help with other hurts too.
Field witches - these witches have the greenest of thumbs and bond with rodents. Check your local florist for a hampster.
Power witches - cat cuddlers, these witches deal with karma, luck and power boosts. They're essential support for large castings.
