Anyone else has seen those hoof trimming videos on YouTube?
You are the one person farmers turn to for their cattle and horses when their hooves seem to be injured or need trimming. Your content with your job, especially since farmers tend to add a little something extra to your paycheck, like eggs, honey, and other of their products!
But one night, you are awoken from your slumber at the sound of something walking around your cabin. Sounds like a....horse? Did one escape?
You make your way out the front door, carefully looking for the horse outside and see....a horse, yes, but with a torso of a human....um...
The centaur explains his problem, and it doesn't take long for you to notice the slight limp it had. Bewildered, you end up with the centaurs leg propped up as you pry a nail out. You make sure the hoof is fine, bandaging it up and the centaur sighs in pure relief.
You, now back in bed after the centaur bids you a thanks and a goodbye, stare up at the ceiling. Can't really tell anyone magical creatures exist without sounding crazy, can you? Surely, that will your last encounter with them.
Nope.
You gained a night job, helping any fantastical hoofed creatures. A good amount of centaurs come in; some for healing, some for checkups. You still remember the first time a Minotaur came for help! You were intimidated by the size of him, but he turned out to be a very nice fella to deal with! Satyrs too, they are quite the nice folk.
Not to mention, they started to pay too. Not with your currency, but also with foods and items you've possibly never seen before. That's the least they could do, seeing you often sacrifice your sleep as they come mostly during night time.

Why are some people pissed off that many of us are interested in Henry’s backstory?
I mean, I get he’s the villain, but it’s not like he’s a cheater
Knight boyfriend x Jester!Y/N (reader)
First meetings
For @paper-dool , my 100th follower 💕 thank you so much for supporting me! I hope you enjoy this, I did my best to think of something that felt right to write out given the dynamic of a jester and a knight <33
cw; not beta read-
It was inevitable that the court Jester and one of the personal knights of the royal family would cross paths; after all, making sure the King, Queen and their future heir(s) are safe at all times was his job
The court's jester though? Was actually a new one, and you could say that today was their debut of sorts
As soon as you came out on the floor, he could immediately tell you were trouble and a handful to deal with; and just as soon as you’d started your act, he thought about how you were certainly lucky to have a physical piece of evidence pardoning you from any punishments others would definitely receive for making the same jokes you were
You certainly didn’t care about pushing boundaries, most of the nobles in the great hall gasping and murmuring softly amongst themselves for the way you were pushing at the rules
Your seemingly only saving grace was that the King found great joy in everything that came out of your mind
"Refreshing" is what he'd called you
'Reckless, more likely..' he thought to himself
He'd been watching somewhat absentmindedly, obviously more focused on his duties as that was who he was at his core, when all of a sudden you were in front of him; using him as a prop for your act
And that was when he really noticed your eyes
As much as you were entertaining these people, you seemed to harbor a deep sort of resentment towards them- which definitely explained the "jokes" you'd been making all evening
Just as quick as you were there though, you were gone again. Back to your smiles and quips as you performed for the nobles and their King along with the rest of the royal family, none of them ever knowing any better
But he knew
Or did he?
After all, it was only a fleeting glance that he really had
But surely he couldn't have mistaken those eyes; there was no way he could have done so for he always found them staring right back at him in his very own reflection at the end of the night
He wanted to find you after the evening's festivities concluded, thinking he'd have a moment but the princess was calling for him, wanting to have her fun
And so, for now he retreated, making his way to her side as he steels his thoughts to work again, unaware that it would be useless for the rest of the night
The only thing he could remember by the time his eyes closed for whatever meager sleep he could manage was the sight of yours, complex feelings arising in his chest before he eventually succumbed to his body's desperate need for rest

I am embarking on TRCC Readathon 2025 with a highly ambitious TBR but I fully embrace the fact that I will not get through all of these in 7 days 😂 I'm just on a fantasy kick so I pulled everything I had that fit the bill and we'll see what happens :3
I'm starting with The Honey Witch and Skysong and so far they are both lovely 🥰 what's everyone else picking up first?
