My piece for @homestuckss! Created for a user off of tumblr, I have a fantasy/magic AU of JadeDavepeta (with bonus down below).

This Davepeta is a separate species than a human or troll (hence no horns), but has been created with the essences of Dave and Nepeta. Their name is Nogah, meaning "brightness."

In this magic AU, people can be magically linked to those who they are apprenticed, but also they can be linked to others. Jade is linked to a wingless Bec Noir, while Nogah is linked to a winged but dog-feature-lacking PM. So, Jade got some doggy ears and Nogah got wings.

They are dating and really like each other, but PM and Bec Noir do not like each other. There isn't a history of murder between PM and Bec Noir, but they are of rival magical traditions. Hence, there are tensions, and the poor youths just want to date!

Finally!!! Part two to my extremely overambitious au!! a bit too many charactrs to fit here and some play only minor roles so ill elaborate on them more under the cut

Human Kingdom —>

tavros- diligent servant, too afraid to openly rebel and too afraid to leave, but helps nepeta anytime she sneaks in to gather info

rufioh- lazy servant, used to have a thing with damara but that went…very bad

porrim- plays up the loyal servant act to vouch for kankri, similar to kanaya

areana- royal archivist, technically kankri’s boss but its more of a partnership

equius- nobleman, loyal to the queen and previously in charge of aradia

horrus- also nobleman, pretends he doesnt feel one way or the other about everything but he too holds heavy loyalties to the crown

eridan- part of the royal family, and much like meenah idolizes the queen and is GLAD to do all the political work even if meenah ends up getting the credit

cronus-truly doesnt care about any of it, though again with similarities to meenah in that he’ll just reap the spoils

thinking about the self indulgent witch hat au again and just thinking that damn. Jade, Karkat and Dave coparenting is some kind of Clusterfuck, and not even in the ways you'd think

because like in front of Dirk and the rest of the alpha kids it seems like Dave and Jade have it all together! Jade's got that kooky inventor aunt energy and Dave's surprisingly well-rounded in teaching subjects like literature and economics in ways that don't diminish the Magical end product of learning the Technical Artistic Skills needed to draw runes while Karkat seems like the somewhat overbearing and standoffish guard keeping things safe

in actuality Dave Strider is hanging onto his veneer of cool by the fingernails because Jake broke his arm while climbing a tree to grab a wayward dog and he's convinced Jake will never heal and it's all his fault, and Karkat is bitching at him about how there's paperwork the Witch Council sent all of them to sign while teaching Jane how to make a simple splint and Dirk (who thinks Dave is the coolest dude in the world) is tugging on Dave's cloak like "hey so I know medical magic is forbidden, however, I think we should break every law and kill God if it means destroying a world that would allow such evil to exist" and also Jade just told Roxy "hey we all blow up at least one bed in our lives! here, i'll show you how I blew mine up! :D" as a very concerning sheen of smoke is coming from the girls' room bc Roxy was trying to draw runes to make the bedframe move to Jake's rescue and it Didn't Exactly Work Out That Way
