Hey Seyary! Happy 7th Anniversary! So, I know I'm late to the party here, but I just wanted to send this to you and say thank you for all your hard work. On a more personal note, Gladiator for me was the "cement" that solidified my love of this pairing. When I was going to university I looked forward to reading the chapters and spent hours catching up on the story. It fueled my love for this pairing. Just wanted to say that. And yes - "We are entertained" 😉.

Well, one day late isn’t all that late xD thank you for the message! I’m glad Gladiator was instrumental in making you one of us Sokkla shippers :D I’m glad it was also good company for you in university (sure was mine too x’D been writing this since around 20 days after my first day of first year!).

And I’m glad you’ve been entertained x’DDDD doesn’t matter if that phrase probably won’t ever show up in the story itself, it’s real fun to have it used outside it xD thank you for all your support through the years, @fanwright!

So, you have a Sokkla head-canon?

Well, sure. After reading so many stories with them, analyses about their relationship and viewing many gorgeous fanarts, I have a few head-canons about them. In no particular order:

1. Since she has a gorgeous voice, Sokka loves listening to Azula sing whenever he can. Especially because she doesn’t do it often. In fact, aside from singing lullabies to their children, I believe she likes singing on Sokka’s birthday as a part of her gift to him and as a prelude to their smuttier activities which ensue shortly afterwards.

2. Another one that’s voice related. One night Azula and Sokka are putting their kids to sleep and, as aforementioned, Azula is singing a lullaby while Sokka is just enjoying the moment. However, due to unknown circumstances, Katara happens to be passing outside their closed door and stops upon hearing Azula singing. She gets a déjà vu feeling from it and is horrified when she suddenly realizes why it feels familiar. It sounds extremely similar to Kya’s voice when she was singing lullabies to Katara and Sokka as children. Needless to say, Katara is traumatized by this and doesn’t mention this anyone (perhaps only Aang or Hakoda). I don’t think Sokka would realize how similar Azula’s voice is to Kya’s on his own since, as he says in the series, he isn’t sure if he even remembers what Kya looked like and it’s much, much easier to forget someone’s voice than their physical appearance (I do think he might be aware of it on a subconscious level, but Katara or Hakoda would have to point this out for him to be fully aware of it).

3. One that’s pretty well-established, Sokka and Azula love training together and improving their fighting skills, whether Azula uses her bending or her martial arts skills depends on the individual scenario. They also love playing strategy games together, whether it’s Pai Sho or some other chess-like game that requires thinking several steps in advance.

4. Another logical head-canon is, Azula and Sokka love using food in order to spice up their time in the bedroom: either Azula eating food as provocatively as possible or Sokka licking food off of her both apply. Thanks to the eclipse, they also love bondage and tying each other up from time to time.

5. Sokka proposes to Azula under the Sothern Lights or on Ember Island with a blue fire-shaped necklace. I know an engagement necklace is a Northern Water Tribe tradition, but I can’t see Sokka having any issue adopting this tradition, especially when he wants to show Azula how much he loves her.Yes, this head-canon is inspired by Gladiator, plus a fanart from @no-eskeipe and it fits these two incredibly well. It’s the most perfect merging of two opposing cultures anywhere within Avatarverse.

Anyway, these are 5 Sokkla head-canons off the top of my head. I have a bunch of others about Sokkla, many of them adopted from stories, fanarts and analyses I’ve seen and read, but I think this is sufficient for now.
