Lungs: l’amore contro l’incertezza del presente / Lungs: love against the uncertainty of present
“Che cosa accade all’istinto in un’epoca dominata dall’incertezza, dalle catastrofi ecologiche, dalla crisi globale?”. È la domanda che si pone Massimiliano Farau, regista della pièce “Lungs” di Duncan Macmillan in arrivo dal 17 al 29 marzo al Teatro dell’Orologio di Roma. Si tratta di un dialogo amoroso di una giovane coppia che inizia la fatidica discussione sull’avere o meno un bambino. “Di fronte alla loro coscienza, il primo dubbio che sorge nell’ascoltatore è se questa non copra la paura di diventare adulti, di confrontarsi con un impegno definitivo che richiede di amare un essere che ancora non esiste. È questa l’incertezza più radicale nei protagonisti; la loro capacità di amare però, scopriranno e scopriremo, è più grande e tenace di quanto potessero immaginare”.
"What happens to the instinct in an era dominated by uncertainty, by ecological disasters, by the global crisis?". This is the question arisen by Massimiliano Farau, director of the pièce “Lungs” by Duncan Macmillan on stage from the 17th to 29th of March at the Teatro dell’Orologio of Rome. It is a loving dialogue of a young couple that begins the fateful discussion about having a baby or not. "Facing their consciousness, the first question that arises in the listener is whether that does not cover the fear of becoming adults, to confront a definitive commitment that requires to love a being that does not exist yet. This is the most radical uncertainty in the protagonists; their ability to love, however, we all will discover, is larger and tenacious than they could imagine".
