Hey! More about the fm protests. So, how the local news is characterizing the situation is a little fucking disgusting, to put it very charitably. First of all, they keep emphasizing that the police gave two orders to disperse, and acting like that vindicated any of their actions but like???? What is a protest about police brutality if you just go home when they tell you to? And then they were talking about how all the meaning behind the protests were lost when they became violent (read, a few water bottles got thrown, and some people stood in front of cars. Maybe a broken window or something too, they weren't clear) but like, peaceful protests work because they imply the threat of violence, or because they force more people to recognize the issue? And this shit has been protested against for some time and shit hasn't changed so like- what are we supposed to do? And they actively deny that tear gas, and those pepper plastic bullet guns have been used, so like. Thought I'd let yall know.

When in Fargo, North Dakota, be sure to stop by the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau to get your picture taken with the infamous woodchipper from Fargo, the movie.

My family did just that last week while in town for the Twins Winter Caravan. Ten-year-old Joanie, who has not seen the film and thinks the woodchipper is “creepy,” did not want to be in the photo.

She had a hard time, however, saying “no” to the friendly lady at the visitors bureau who offered us bomber hats as photo props and said she’d be delighted to take our picture. 

The foot sticking out of the woodchipper was even decked out in a red sock with white hearts in honor of Valentine’s Day!

Fargo is such a great movie, especially when watching it with my husband, Jesse, and my mom. We laugh until we cry! Jesse even nicknamed my mom “Super Lady.” (See clip below...)

“Although what you see on TV wasn’t actually filmed in Fargo, North Dakota, you can still visit a piece of cinematic history - the original Fargo woodchifargpper movie prop (and its stunt double) - at the Fargo-Moorhead Visitors Center.

Just off I-94, the Fargo woodchipper sits ready and waiting for a photo op. The friendly travel ambassadors will give you a trapper hat (those winter hats with ear flaps that are worn in the movie) and take your picture as you pretend to push a fake leg into the Fargo “chipper.”

Beyond getting a picture with the woodchipper from Fargo, which is signed by the Coen brothers, you can also see other memorabilia from the movie, including a signed copy of the original script.”

Happy #inktober2022 @artsnacks day 1 prompt “match”. I really narrowed down my supplies for this one and just used my Ohuhu fine liners and the Faber Castell Pitt pens from artsnacks Inktober box. The first two days of October have me traveling and busy so I only brought a few supplies with me and I really love these Faber Castell pens! I might just stick with these supplies because they were so much fun and different for me to use, but we shall see. I do want to incorporate the Liquitex acrylic ink in turquoise that I also got from the Inktober box so I may add that as background color. We shall see!
