We are starting off our new farm topic with a trip to the farm and this wonderful farmyard sensory tray created by one of my wonderful nursery nurses!

Farmyard rhyming activity. The children loved reciting the poem and guessing what was inside the barn. Good opportunity for initial sound knowledge application as well as rhyming knowledge. This can easily be adapted to fit into any topic.

Farmyard sorting- the children had to sort the farm animals into the right habitat. Each habitat was numbered so they also had to count out the correct number of animals into each!
