Tonight on my way home from class I had to walk past the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where Real Madrid is playing a game tonight against Roma. It was completely packed, and I was already scared because sports fans are scary (and a lot of Real Madrid fans are fascists because that was Franco’s team) and about halfway past the stadium I passed a large group of men singing something and raising their arms in the Nazi salute. So I’m feeling pretty shaken now, but glad to be home and safe in my own bed.

Should I read Cioran? Heard he was a fascist

“on the heights of despair” is his first book and it seems to be just pure condensed suffering with no real references to anything in the world, however, i think most of his stuff published before/during WWII is fucked up and fascist. after WWII he apparently renounced his fascist tendencies and so his stuff after that is not horrible. i’m not reading him uncritically, obviously. do whatever makes you comfortable
