almost every popular m/m ship I see is one trampling over a woman to get to. Now I understand the over saturation of het ships. I do. but it's just so... unsurprising and depressing that the way people think to fix this is by erasing women. Because god knows women/women characters haven't faced that enough

And I totally get that too - but also in a lot of cases, this m/m shipped by women is almost always two conventionally attractive white dudes. M/f ships with poc in them can’t be qualified under the same umbrella - like the example off the top of my head is star wars and how people will literally ship rey with the white dude who attacked her (i havent seen tfa yet but) rather than finn who is the protagonist and a Good Dude (from my understanding). 

there’s also this sort of vibe of like two dudes so much as Breathe in the direction of another and it’s like TIME TO SHIP THEM! XDDD!!!, whereas two women need a 12 page research paper with citations to ship them together. I’m tired lmao.
