~ Reiko and Miyako ~ After far too long, I finally made a some ghost oc's for the Project Zero universe. I crave to have at least a few spooky ones! So here we have Reiko and Miyako, a twin pair who haunt the bridge which leads to the cemetery in Minakami Village. Destined for the Crimson sacrifice ritual, fate dealt the pair an quicker yet equally tragic fate. Miyako, the older of the pair, slipped from the bridge to her death in the ravine below. Grief stricken, Reiko took her life just a few weeks later. They both haunt the bridge and the woods which surrounds it: looking eternally for one another yet never being able to become whole again. Really enjoyed getting to create some spookier characters, might do more in the future :D

~ Haruka and Mayuka ~ Wanted to update the refs for the twins. Well that and taking any excuse really to get to draw them again! :D

~ Classroom acrobatics ~ It is indeed a gamble to leave a bored Haruka and Ioann in between classes. They find ways to entertain themselves :D More shitpost collabs with @nattravn-art featuring our Pathologic oc's (and Sticky, who's the best boy who can not help but to wonder if this is being brave or just insurance fraud waiting to happen). ~ Hisame ~ Inspiration did strike again, it was autumn after all and I was in my usual Project Zero mode. The result was Hisame, the spirit of a remaining from the Heian period. While she went through with her ritual, it broke her completely, leading to her trying to get back into the ritual area. It didn’t end well and Hisame’s body was buried in secret under a sacred tree. Several hundred years later, those seals broke and she rose from the dead, quite confused to her new living predicament.

~ The Unleashing and what it unearthed ~ Fourth illustration for the twins and this is where I wished to dwell a bit into their own backstory. The two of them are kind of a mix from both Project Zero 2 and Project Zero 3. Their mother actually ran when she birthed them, taking refuge far away in the Kuze shrine where her maternal feelings quickly died down, instead being replaced by shame and anger at these children she had saved since it cost her her entire life. As such she volunteered to become a tattooed priestess and dissappeared out of the twins life very early: as such they never knew fully what happened but only that their motehr served in a secret part of the shrine. When the unleashing happens Haruka insists they need to save their mother but what comes out of the chambers and miasma turns out to be nothing like the maternal figure they thought she would be.

~ Haruka and Mayuka ~ So I might or might not have gone and actually done something I always wanted to do: created oc’s for the Project Zero aka Fatal Frame universe. A pair of twins that ends up growing up inside of the Kuze shrine before all the shenanigans of the games take place: they often seem to get caught up in explorations that leads to encounters with the paranormal. By old twin laws: Mayuka is the older and Haruka is the younger (by Project Zero 2 standards so to speak: in modern take Haruka is the first born and Mayuka the second.) it was surprisingly fun to get to dig my feet back into games that’s been with me for well over 15-ish years and I look forward to drawing and writing more about them!

So I super revamped two old Fatal Frame ocs! They were originally made for whatever comic I was going to make back in the day, but I dropped it before I even finished the cover art lol, so now I repurposed them to be ocs for the Maiden of Black Water setting.

A couple details are the same: Rena is the older twin with glasses, they both still have black/white outfits lined in red, and they're Kei's daughters. The original story had them go to the Lost Village themselves for some reason??? despite it being flooded??? I really don't remember lol. This time though, there's the plot twist that Luna is the dead twin, but Rena is in complete denial of this, so the former appears as an imaginary entity and/or a ghost. Rena has a phobia of water, since that's how Luna died, but she just remembers experiencing the drowning herself due to her close spiritual connection with her twin. She's eventually lured to Mount Hikami and learns the truth, and she has to decide whether to join her sister or to move on.
