Putting on these last 20lb or so getting to 350, I've noticed that my body is putting it *everywhere*.

Belly and Boobs? Check. Thighs and Upper arms? Check. Ankles, Neck/Chin, and Fingers? Check.

It really makes me wonder what I'll look like in another 25-50 lb. Will I be wider? More belly focused? Or will I just keep filling up and outward like a human shaped ball of dough rising on the counter?

Larger bodied people often encounter reminders that their bodies are the “wrong” size, and that there’s something wrong with them. Lots of minor discomforts, and a few major discomforts, add up over the course of the day. It can make people feel like they don’t fit in, don’t belong, in this world that was not built to accommodate them.

Making the world accessible to people of all body sizes is important to me. Comfort is important, but that’s not the only thing. It’s not just about safety either (which is also incredibly important). This is about inclusion and about making sure that everyone feels like there is space for them in this world. As advocates for body liberation, as so many of us are, we must continue to center the experiences of those who face significant systemic barriers to just EXISTING in their bodies.
