Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade was an October 2019 #botm pick and a rare adult fantasy book choice. There’s a quest to save the world that goes horribly wrong and now someone must step up. Mayhem ensues. Here’s what I liked - I like the characters if Aaslo and Teza. Aaslo is a no-nonsense, tough, don’t give up kind of guy. He’ll give you all he has until he’s used up. Teza is the same way. And I like the story okay. Here’s what I didn’t like - there are way to many characters 🤦🏼♂️ There are four pages of character and place names. And there are gods that have some kind of power. So you have to remember a name and what they do and us this a place or another person they’re talking about. And all of the names are made up so you have to pause and decide in your head how to pronounce it 🤷🏼♂️ Pretty frustrating. Have you ever watched HGTV and there’s a couple where the guy is trying to be witty and cool but just falls flat? That’s what this feels like. It tries hard but doesn’t quite get there. This is not my regular genre so if you like fantasy you might like this one. And if you read it you’ll understand just what he’s carrying in that bag on the cover. 🤔 #fateofthefallen #kelkade #fantasyadventure #bookofthemonth #bookstagram #bookshelves #bookswithcharacter #bookhoarder #bookworm #sodacityreads #bookreview #hardcover #bookcollector #bookhaul #bookspines #goodreads #homelibrary #fiction #fantasyfiction #thriller #bookcollection https://www.instagram.com/p/CADZtNyAxQZ/?igshid=13ziu1ktk2vie
