“So, the stories are true... at least some of them,” Pollux says, his eyes bright with wonder. He’d learned long ago that people come up with tales to entertain themselves based on half-truths and fantasy. In fact, he’s heard things about himself; that he can turn into a creature made of swamp fire, that his green blood burns through skin like acid.

Half truths, but he does not concern himself with separating out the fact from the fiction.

He bows to her, leaning on his staff. “I have sought you out for a long while. I respect someone who makes herself so difficult to find.” It makes him more confident she has at least some of the powers she is said to have.

          “This is easily the most absurd thing I’ve ever done.” It’s not his first time saying that. This isn’t new -- they’ve been out on their own for almost two months. That isn’t the strange part. The strange part is that they’re currently heading back into Federation space. Of their own accord. In theory, they should be able to pass undetected, but...

Malcolm sat back down on his bed, tucking his legs back under his body, patting his thighs. “Come rest your head, love,” he said softly, smiling at her. He didn’t usually show affection with people, but for Pris, he could tell she needed it and he was more than willing to provide it. He picked up his book and turned the pages to get back to where he was. “Did you want me to read for you?”

After the discussion with Pris, Pike had fallen into an easy sleep, so when One had slipped in to check in with him and found him asleep, she tucked him in and shut off his light. 

Returning to her own quarters, Pris was sitting at her desk. One blinked as if she was hallucinating. Realizing she wasn’t, One took a seat across from her. “Are you the... entity, Commander Barry speaks of?” she asked, referencing to a previous conversation she’d had with the chief engineer.
