“No one told me there was a house party!”
“Today I went with my mom to one of her friend’s houses, and they had a bunch of books they were getting rid of. I got thirty-seven books.”
Through the groups of drunk party-goers and dancers, one may see a very short girl peeking out from behind her current hiding place, the couch. Her glares were set on the table of snacks across the room, where she had replaced someone’s cupcakes with her own versions, complete with stale bread and toothpaste frosting.

Hinami pouted at the party growing around her. She had plastered herself against the wall, content to be a wallflower for the night. She had a red solo cup, but inside it was only water.
She was supremely uncomfortable. She didn’t know why she’d even come.
If the exit didn’t seem completely unreachable through the crowd, she’d probably have left already.

Haru hadn’t dressed up very much for the party, figuring the occasion seemed pretty casual, so she had simply arrived in her usual homewear. Her faced beamed in excitement and she had instantly lunged for the table that was to have been set with food. With a grumbling stomach, she could feel tears almost welling up in her eyes at the sight of an empty tray save for coated with a few stray crumbs around the edges. She wailed out slightly in a heartbroken breath. “It’s gone..”
