Final Fantasy XV - Fateswap AU (but not really)
Gonna admit, I've been toying with my own take on the FFXV Fateswap AU - that is, the lightqueen!Luna and oracle!Noctis variant. Do humor me a bit.
Once upon a time, the god Deus created Eos, leaving it in the care of his six Messengers, the Astrals. He also gave Eos four crystals - Light, Shadow, Water and Fire. Lucis = light, Tenebrae = shadow, Accordo = water, Niflheim = fire. The nations are not strictly "in control" of only one element, per se, but anyways. Balance and all that shit.
Everything started when Niflheim invaded Accordo. They wanted the Water Crystal since they relied too much on the Fire Crystal to advance their nation, weakening and then breaking it. But yes, greed is a nasty bitch, so they come for Tenebrae next.
It is said that every thousand years, when Eos is nearing destruction, the Avatar of Deus is born as a human from one of the four nations. It follows a cycle (yes, ATLA.). Last time, it was Ardyn Lucis Caelum, but we all know how that turned out, so. (shrugs) Now, it's Luna.
Niflheim and Accordo are mostly the same. Lucis is a sort-of religious authority instead of Tenebrae. It has an elected Prime Minister to handle the government side of things, while the Grand Maester (basically the Oracle, but made gender neutral) is from the line of Lucian kings and queens. Tenebrae, on the other hand, is sort of like Lucis in the canon, but not really.
House Fleuret
- The former ruling monarchy of Tenebrae, they were deposed when Niflheim annexed them as a province of the Empire like they did Accordo. All their assets were seized, and only Fenestala Manor, slowly becoming decrepit, was left to them.
- Despite this setback, House Fleuret still helped their people whenever they could, giving away most of the possessions and resources that they still had. Their "titles" aside, they are as good as mere commoners now. Both literally and, well, everything else in between.
Sylva Nox Fleuret - the former queen of Tenebrae, direct descendant. She lost her status and became "Lady Sylva" after the annexation. She uses what little magic she has left to heal people at the hospital. One day, she receives a vision from Grand Maester Regis of the things to come, so she sends Ravus and Luna away.
Caius Nox Fleuret (née Via Astra) - the deceased prince of Tenebrae, a noble who married into the family. He died protecting Sylva from the Niflheim attack. He is greatly mourned by his family and country.
Ravus Nox Fleuret - the former first prince of Tenebrae, and first child of Sylva and Caius. He was supposed to be the next King before shit hit the fan. He used to work as a hunter. He was about to enter the Niflheim military when Sylva sent them away. He joins Luna on her divine journey and fulfill her calling as Avatar of Deus. He is 29 when the story starts.
Lunafreya Nox Fleuret - the former first princess of Tenebrae, and second child of Sylva and Caius. She works as a local teacher. Sometimes, she helps her mother at the hospital. Her healing powers are stronger than her mother's, but once Sylva realized this, she forbade Luna to use them often, lest the Empire come after them. She just turned 25 when she found out she's the next Avatar of Deus, and is destined to save the world.
Aranea Highwind - a retainer of House Fleuret. Formerly a mercenary from the Empire, she, Biggs and Wedge changed sides after the attack on Tenebrae. (Personal grief involved. Cough.) She joined Ravus as a hunter, and now accompanies Luna on her journey.
Biggs and Wedge - subordinates of Aranea. They were tasked to stay behind and guard Lady Sylva.
Nyx Ulric - one of the last surviving knights of the Kingsglaive, the Tenebraean royal army. Lady Sylva asks him to accompany Luna on her journey.
Gentiana - a mysterious woman who briefly met Luna and co. on their travels. She comes by to give advice once in a while.
House Caelum
- The line of religious leaders of Eos come from the Lucian royal line. Its highest member is the Grand Maester. (Equivalent of the Oracle. Gender-neutral, because Oracle has female connotations.)
Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII - His Eminience, the 113th Grand Maester. He has the power to commune with the Astrals and bear the will of the gods. He also has the duty to maintain the magic wall that protects Lucis. His strength is failing him, and he sends one last message to Queen Sylva before he dies.
Noctis Lucis Caelum CXIV - the (future) 114th Grand Maester. He is unwilling to accept his duties as Grand Maester, instead wanting to rebel against his destiny. He goes through a lot of suffering, starting with his father's death.
- N.B.: The Grand Maester is a composite of the Monarch of Lucis and the Oracle. Also, it is required of the future Grand Maester to seek the blessings of the Astrals prior to their ascension. Noctis, however, turns out to have a different job.
Ignis Scientia - first son of House Scientia, the Hand of the Maester. He is a childhood friend of Noctis, and raised to serve and guide him. He accompanies Noctis on his pilgrimage and ascension as Grand Maester.
Gladiolus Amicitia - first son of House Amicitia, the Shield of the Maester. As much as he doesn't want to have anything to do with Noctis, he eventually becomes one of Noctis' true friends. He accompanies Noctis on his pilgrimage and ascension as Grand Maester.
Prompto Argentum - adopted son (ward) of Prime Minister Cor Leonis, he is also a friend of Noctis, whom he met in school. He's been having strange, dark dreams, which he doesn't want to tell anyone of. He accompanies Noctis on his pilgrimage and ascension as Grand Maester.
Cor Leonis - Prime Minister of Lucis, former head of the Crownsguard, the Lucian royal army. Adoptive father of Prompto, whom he found in less-than-ideal circumstances in a foreign land.
There’s prolly too much plot holes right now, eep.
Will I write this out? idk
