I had a dream that I pet a cat last night. It wasn’t my cat, but it was a cat.

I still haven’t moved her bed off my work desk. I really do need to wash it.

Original mini posm pattern by @nichet-crochet !

I made a mini rainbow posm based on Nichet Crochet's mini posm pattern. The main body colours were based on the six-stripe rainbow flag and the ears are pink+blue for trans colours and when combined, they will make the eight-stripe rainbow. The brown nose and black eyes can also count as part of the rainbow flag.

The leg colours are based off of the eight-coloured rainbow flag.

I also made a cape based on the triangle part of the intersex-inclusive pride flag, so when combined they will make the intersex-inclusive pride flag. I was worried the cape would be too big for the mini posm but it turned out okay.

Friday was donating the food, washing all of her blankets, anddumping out all the litter boxes. Yesterday was just sleeping and dealing with my parents.

Spent today cleaning litter boxes, writing a thank you letter to my vet’s office, and going through my phone to organize all the pictures of my cat into a dedicated album.

The litter boxes were gross, the letter was because I know they deal with a lot and I am grateful for all the help they gave in her final years, and the pictures was so I could go through my memories of her through the years.

It was good.

#it’s weird not having a cat #we’re giving ourselves a month of no cat before getting another animal #we’re either getting my parent’s cat #or we’re going to the humane society to get their oldest and most medically complicated animal

I don’t know how to process the fact that my cat is going to be dead in an hour. It’s the most compassionate choice I can make for her, but I still don’t know how I’m gonna fully get through this. I’ve spent all day just holding her because it’s her favorite place to be is in someone’s arms but I still feel like I should’ve made this last day more special for her even if I don’t think there’s anything else she would’ve rather done.

I would’ve gotten all the food she’s ever wanted to eat and fed them to wear one by one, but the whole reason this is happening is because she stopped eating and we can’t get her to keep eating anymore.

So the only thing I can do is hold her the way she’s always asking to be held and it doesn’t feel like enough
