Let’s talk about emotions for a bit.⠀ ⠀ Growing up, I thought showing emotions or being vulnerable was weak.⠀ ⠀ ❌Don’t let anybody see you be emotional. ⠀ ⠀ ❌You’re not allowed to let people know how you feel because it makes you weak.⠀ ⠀ ❌People will take advantage of that. ⠀ ⠀ 😯It was a learned behavior. I struggled a lot with being my true self because I always felt I had to be “hard” and emotionless.⠀ ⠀ 😟Shoot, I didn’t even want to cry in front of anyone, even my husband!⠀ ⠀ I was not a very vulnerable person. As I got closer to God, I allowed myself to be vulnerable and show and feel my emotions. ⠀ ⠀ 🤣Show joy through tears, love through hugs and vulnerability. 🥰🥰🥰⠀ ⠀ I wasn’t me. ⠀ ⠀ ❌Even when I was trying to lose weight, I was afraid of showing you my struggles and my progress because then I would be seen as weak, as a failure. ⠀ ⠀ ✅Emotions aren’t this horrible thing that means you’re weak. ⠀ ✅Emotions allow you to truly feel joy and let people in through vulnerability.⠀ ⠀ But don’t let your emotions run you.
