In my mind, Terezi is the only Pyrope who's fat for epigenetic trauma reasons since she didn't have a lusus to hunt for her when she was very small so she probably went hungry a lot and that would cause her body to prioritize gaining and maintaining weight when she's older and better at finding food. People can be fat for other reasons but I think it would kinda be thematically appropriate if she's "uglier" than Latula or Redglare despite theoretically being genetically identical to them. Something went wrong with her and it made her different, even before the whole blindness thing. If I was ever gonna write anything specifically about that though I think I'd make it a pretty subtle element because I don't like to give Terezi too much body image angst since that is already something you are expected to automatically give to a fat girl, to the point of fatigue. And it's nice to occasionally be in an alien setting where you can pretend it's less of a big deal. I think it could be nebulously attached to her feeling weird about her kiddish interests and lack of connection to "girlness", Terezi meets Latula and everything about Latula just screams "girl" and "teen." So Terezi is just standing there in her sweatpants holding a stuffed animal and thinking about how she's even shaped different from her too, and, come to think of it, the historical drawings she has seen of Redglare don't look like her either. Now that she herself is a teenager and stuck in space after the destruction of the planet that held the social role she was supposed to fulfill, she is not growing up into what she and Vriska always thought she would be.

was buying shirts and was asking for sizes and colors from the nice clerk and he offered me this cool avenged sevenfold shirt that only came in white, which i dont normally buy because I didn't think i look good in white. told him people my size don't buy white, kinda jokingly, though he laughed and said i should try it on.

while looking at the mirror i was thinking why i said that. why did i say that even, like, who am i trying to fool? nobody is going to look at me in a black shirt like "oh yeah, that guys not fat" and then look at me in white and suddenly be shocked. even so, why does it matter, and why do i feel like i have to live a lie where im thin, not even buy a cool shirt because it might break the non-existent immersion?

never pass up something cool out of fear of looking fat. if you're fat, no white shirt or beach shirt or a normal fitting shirt would ever make someone the impression you're not fat, and more likely it'll make you more uncomfortable in stuff that's not necessarily you. this is probably kinda corny but genuinely embrace yourself
