Another early morning, another mug of cereal. We headed out to Versailles. Took a bit of doing to get there because the station was closed but they were still selling tickets to it. We got there about an hour late but the lines were non existent, on the outside anyway.
A bit of a crowd inside but it would be worth it with twice the people because there isn’t anything else like it in the world.
Unfortunately most of the gardens were closed or being renovated, but we walked to the petite Triannon, which was Marie Antoinette’s house, we also saw the hamlet that she had built. It looks like walking into a Disney version of a French village.
We walked back to the château, getting burnt for our trouble then began the walk back to the station, stopping at a Starbucks on the way for some much needed caffeine.
We managed to stop at home for one hot minute before heading out for our night bike tour. It was fantastic. Fat Tire Bike tours to give them a shout out. We went past the Tower, past Note Dame and around Paris. We then jumped on a boat for a quick tour as the sun set (around 10pm). Back on our bikes and taxed to the Eiffel tower for its 11 o’clock light show. The tour was a great find, it’s a flat city so it wasn’t a challenge, there were some bigger people in our group but they didn’t fall behind, all can enjoy it. They run one in Berlin TT oo, so well probably check it out.
Caught the train back, stopped for a large dinner and called it a night.
