2020 Creator Wrap: Favourite works

5(or so) you said?

1) This flinthamilton reading glasses au is very dear to me. The aesthetic side of it is not my best creation but I love the plot of it. We need more stories about middle aged people. It’s interesting it keeps appearing in my notes every week since I posted it, not a usual thing. And yeah I love it because I have a thing for men wearing reading glasses.

2) Silverflint Fly me to the moon. I am really proud of this one. It came out great. I like the script. It amuses me that the central pic happened by accident.

3) I love crack, I wish I was funnier and made more of it.  What if Flint dresses like prince John was such fun to make, also a bit of a challenge (my editing skills are zero). I have to add my two other crack babies. SF Canon era, one (or both) accidentally calling the other one pet names    and Who’s Billy?

4) I really enjoy doing pic sets for fanfics like this one the straight walk home. I haven’t done any for a while and I miss it a lot. 

5) TOBY STEPHENS not entirely focused during interviews. This was fun. 

6) I always enjoy the hours (days) of research for my appreciation posts like Toby’s hands or eyes or eyelashes I made this year.

7) Flinthamilton Beauty and the beast AU. It was hell of a work but I am pleased how it came out. 

Sorry but I couldn’t left out some of my babies. This year I improved my editing skills a little. I found a new app to work in, which makes this all easier.

i was tagged by @oh-aew, thank you roa! i adore you and all you create <3 this year was tough to say the least but we’ve all put out some incredible things and im so lucky to have been here to witness all that’s been done :)) here’s some of my favourite things that i’ve made and love, in no particular order

1. The gifset with James Flint’s hair. This post literally makes me blush as soon as it comes up on my notifications. The tags on this thing are ... hilarious. I have to admit that I didn’t know what I was doing. I thought it was about his hair. But it turned out to be... something else. I’m not sure it’s a fave so much as continues to give me joy with every unseemly tag. Objectively a better gifset that had a similar effect on people is this battle scene one. I got better at colouring this year.

2. I made a gifset that scared the hell out of me of Marisa Coulter at Bolvanger before I even exported to gif. I love it and how unsettling it is, and yes it’s probably got the least amount of notes any of my HDM gifsets but I love it so. This is where the double gif thing started.

3. My first BS fic, which was about glass sex toys but with a few months reflection I realise is kinda deep, and I’m proud of it. I should have known because smut doesn’t go for 10k with 5k of on gardening and class issues.  

4. Thornfield hospital which is my Jane Eyre AU. It stars Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson: either side of my 2020 metronome of fixation. I loved the 2006 BBC version so why not remake that with them in an asylum in the past, 1940s and the present? I have plans for more gifs and fic but that’s for 2021.

5. I experimented with video. I was happiest with the Marisa and her monkey video I did mid-season and will probably add more to it because we got more excellent scenes after this was made.

I also made graphics and icons and less said about them the better. I do like my pretty purple Ruth though.

Assessment 1 Class Evaluation

There were so many amazing works across the class, everybody had well thought-out concepts that translated perfectly into their works, these are 3 of my favourite works.

The first one so simply rebels against the ridiculous 'Community Standards' of Instagram who have ben infamous for removing content that didn't violate community standards but more so violated the male gaze of the female body, in this case, the sexualisation of women's breasts. The materiality of the 'poster' PERFECTLY embodies the woman stereotype of a mindless craft - weaving, pairing it greatly an feeding into the gender roles of the work's concept.

The second one definitely had the most aesthetic appeal. The intricacy and detail Rorschach-like composition as a statement on the glitch that is the human race. The beautiful attention to detail and contrast of colour adds an intriguing intensity.

The third one was definitely my favourite in terms of presentation. The very concept of co-dependency on our phones paired with the use of an app to scan and 'read' the speech bubble was a nice conceptual touch.
