 FULL  NAME.  born  before  the  time  of  common  surnames,  corin  barely  remembers  that  her  born  name  was  corinna  (    ancient  greek  :  κόριννα  ⸺  romanized  :  korinna  ).  though  she’s  gone  through  many  aliases  and  variations  through  the  years,  it’s  most  common  to  simply  call  her  corin.  though  for  shits  &  giggles,  her  fake  passport  name  is  corin  smith  (  chosen  because  it  sounds  so  similar  to  karin  smith  from  mean  girls,  one  of  her  favorite  fictional  characters  ).  

 NICKNAMES.  corin  technically  is,  but  she’s  heard  shortened  variations  as  well,  rin,  cor  ⸺  it’s  an  easy  name  to  shorten.

 PHYSICAL  ABILITIES.  despite  being  a  guard,  physical  fighting  has  never  been  a  common  thing  in  corin’s  eternal  life.  she  is  far  from  unskilled  (  when  you’re  over  three  -  thousand  years  old,  you  pick  some  things  up  )  but  has  rarely  ever  needed  to  use  it,  unless  whoever  opposed  her  had  an  ability  to  shield  itself  from  her  gift.  after  all,  anyone  who  felt  perfectly  content  no  longer  feels  the  need  to  fight.  that  being  said,  if  corin  ever  does  have  to  physically  defend  herself  ⸺  she  would  mostly  rely  on  speed  &  agility  rather  than  brute  force.  she  is  one  of  the  faster  vampires  &  also  a  remarkably  quick  thinker,  which  helps  evade  those  stronger  than  her  and  surprise  them  in  return.

 ADDICTIVE  CONTENTMENT.  corin’s  gift  is  not  much  described  beyond  the  basics,  that  she  has  the  ability  to  make  other’s  feel  content  &  at  ease,  regardless  of  their  situation.  the  descriptions  vary  on  if  she  can  choose  to  do  this  purposely  or  if  it  is  a  proximity  effect,  but  both  are  true,  in  a  way.  as  a  newborn,  the  effect  was  only  from  proximity.  vampires,  humans,  and  other  creatures  alike  were  drawn  to  her,  and  felt  like  they  were  in  withdrawal  cold  turkey  after  she  left.  but  like  many,  corin  has  developed  her  gift.  currently,  her  gift  is  always  “  switched  on  ”  unless  she  purposely  puts  in  the  effort  to  stop  it.  she  can  also  focus  on  someone  in  particular,  either  making  them  feel  instantly  content  or  withdrawing  every  last  bit  from  them  and  making  them  feel  desperate  for  another  hit.  depending  on  how  long  they’ve  been  exposed  to  corin,  it  can  take  months  or  even  years  for  them  not  to  feel  an  ache  of  withdrawal  about  it.  the  downside  for  corin  personally  is  that  she  is  addicted  to  her  own  gift,  which  is  part  of  the  reason  why  she  is  so  at  comfort  with  the  volturi,  as  they  let  her  use  it  often.  if  she  is  unable  to  use  her  gift  for  an  extended  period  of  time,  she  feels  the  same  intense  feelings  of  withdrawal  others  do.

( non-binary, she/they, homosexual ) is that JESSIE MEI LI? no it’s just, BAE WU. they are a TWENTY-FOUR / ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN year old VAMPIRE and are a part of the NEW YORK COVEN. and they spend their time as an ENFORCER/ASSASSIN. and people describe them as the gentle lull of a storm, a book with a cover intended to deceive & harsh splatters of red across concrete. 

BAE was born in new york to chinese immigrant parents at the beginning of the 20th century. like most, their mother and father had come to the united states to escape the endless famine and poverty back in china at the time.

unfortunately, as was common with most that immigrated over to america, bae and their family were very, very poor – their father having to work long, hard hours while their mother did her absolute best to take care of young bae and their twin brothers ( born 3 years after them ).

and yet, despite the less than ideal circumstances of their lives, the wu’s deeply cared for each other. there wasn’t anything bae wouldn’t do for their family, and once old enough, they proved that time-and-time again. they worked to become fluent in both english and their native chinese to help their parents when their grasp of the former lacked, taught and took care of their brothers when their mother wasn’t able, and tackled any odd jobs that were available. bae was smart and far more than met the eye.

and they liked it that way -- being undetected and unexpected.

sadly, despite their best efforts otherwise to help their parents, it just wasn’t enough, and ultimately, was why they turned to more illegal acts as a means of income. thanks largely in part to the disadvantaged environment they lived in, it’d become all too clear that crime was almost the expected staple needed in order to truly survive in their world, and they immersed themself in it with a curious eagerness.

bae found that they were especially good at stealing in particular. it was almost as though they were intangible as they carefully snuck around the new york elite on the bustling city streets to pickpocket. no one ever seemed to see them. hence, they were never caught. the extra money that they raked in in return ( unbeknownst to their mother and father how precisely they came about the cash ) helped immensely.  

in addition to their early criminal ways, bae was also a scrapper ( many people took one look at their “unladylike” and “crass” demeanor and developed a rather demeaning distaste and attitude towards them almost instantly ). it wasn’t at all unheard of to see them wrestling around with the neighborhood boys – dirty, mussed, and bloody in alleyways and even on street corners. what’s more? they were almost always the victor. and the occasional losses? a lesson.

though, realistically, that behavior ( coupled with their much more non-conforming look ) only succeeded in shunning them out of their circles and others beyond it. bae was an outsider in every sense of the word, but that was okay. they had their family. that’s all they needed at the end of the day.

and as they got older, and with a greater need for more money ( their father had fallen ill in their older age ) they steadily began to move up from their small, petty crimes and onto robberies, shakedowns, and under the table deals in the dead of night, until finally, they found themselves with the rare opportunity to join the complex syndicate of the mob. there, they steadily rose in the ranks to become one of the top enforcer/assassins; their calm, quiet, and unassuming air mixed with their unexpected strength and skills from the streets suited them far too well. honestly, it almost shocked them how good they were at intimidating, and later, yes . . . killing. it became like second nature to them, and more importantly? they’d found acceptance in the mob. outcasts like they were. they made them feel like they belonged. it was something they’d never experienced outside of their biological family before, and it was everything they never quite knew they needed.

to not be so lonely.

what they didn’t know, however, was that their particular mob boss, ronan, wasn’t your typical wiseguy. and once bae had proved themself, they were offered an initiation in a whole new, much more permanent way – with the gift of eternal life. it didn’t take long for them to give their answer. 

the rest they say, is history. 111 years later, and their coven and their dealing are still going strong, and even in forks, they know that won’t be any different.

bae knew they were gay at an early age, but they never came out to their family about it.  too afraid of what they would say, or what would happen. in the early 1900’s, there was only so much one could really push in being different, after all. the realization that they were non-binary came far later, but was something they felt had always been who they were. they’d just never had a name for it until there was one.

they were shocked when they learned about their ability, but have grown to really hone it into what they do. it’s second nature to them now, and they love everything about being able to turn invisible.

they provided for their family until their deaths ( each of which was incredibly hard for bae to handle, though they don’t regret choosing to be a vampire in the long run ).

in memorial to their parents and siblings, bae keeps a locket with a picture of all of them together in it on them at all times.

&&. pls forgive me for taking a minute to get this up. i had to do a bit of research to make sure the bit of tweaking i’ve done to kate’s backstory made sense and was accurate!

KATE was born in europe to her father ( who was an african overseas goods trader ) and her mother ( who was a jewish midwife ) sometime in the 11th century. unfortunately, kate’s father died of severe illness when she was just 3 years old, so she doesn’t really remember him. in fact, she doesn’t remember too much of her childhood outside of the fact that they traveled around a lot, which went on until she and her mother finally settled in slavic lands around the time she was a teenager. there, as she grew older and came into her own, kate began to work as the lead bodyguard to a highborn lady of a war oriented tribe there in her home of slovakia.

for years she stood by her mistress’ side and protected her fiercely, and was considered to be one of the best fighters amongst her group and even beyond. there were even rumors that one touch from her in combat would send you to the ground as though you’d been struck by lightning. and although she wasn’t particularly close to her mistress in a personal sense despite her position, kate was deeply loyal and willing to lay down her life to keep her safe from harm. 

unfortunately, that came much, much sooner than she thought, and not at all in the way she’d imagined. after all, who would ever expect a rogue vampire attack?

kate had been on watch of her mistress’ caravan the fateful night it happened. two unearthly, beautiful women with truly unspeakable power descended on them without warning and horrifically took out everyone in the vicinity in what seemed like mere seconds. and though kate fought her hardest in the sudden onslaught, she was simply no match for the bloodthirsty beings. however, when she was the only one left alive amongst the carnage, the leader of the two women (?) creatures (?), much to her alarm, didn’t immediately slaughter her as she’d done with the rest. no, instead, she seemed more impressed by the young guard’s bravery and strength than anything else, and before kate could protest or question further what was happening, she found sharp teeth tearing into her neck as she was forcibly made to turn into the very thing that’d killed her charge and tribe. a vampire.

the rest of her tale is pretty much on par for what’s given for the rest of KATE’S HISTORY.

&&. here are just some random little facts i have here ( will probably add more later ) :

kate’s full name is katryn, which was given to her by her father. over the many years of her immortal life, the shortened nickname ‘ kate ’ came up and she’s stuck with it ever since. that’s not to say she doesn’t love being called katryn by any means. it’s just special; only those closest to her know of it and are allowed use it.

she’s very protective of her little coven ( and the cullens, too ), especially her two sisters after what happened to sasha ( her new ‘ mother ’ after she turned and former coven leader ).

when she first discovered her gift after awakening, she was only able to manifest it into her hands. but after years and years of hard work, she’s now able to use it throughout her entire body – a perfect attack and defense.

both loves and hates that she was one of the origins for the succubi myth. on the one hand, she feels an immense guilt for the innocent men she accidentally killed, while on the other, and in regard to the not so innocent men she very much intentionally killed, not so much.

she’s held an almost astonishing number of odd jobs and holds quite a few degrees under her belt. though currently, she’s enjoying not being tied down and able to go about her days as she wants.

sulpicia was born in italy, being one of the many latins tribes that came over and settled in early italy in small region known later on to the romans as ‘old latium’

her family were farmers and the women of the family mostly looked after the children and weaved clothing. because of this she was very talented with clothes and was very resourceful.

her tribe made a home in old latium and lived a good life, that is until her parents were attacked by wild animals from the region. they were mauled while she hid underground in a ditch they had dug. 

now an orphan at the tender of age of 12, she had to make her own way, working for the few people who would let her help out, just so she could eat and live. it was a rough going and many men tried to claim her for their own while she was at the marriage age. 

she managed to deter most of them until she was around 17 when she was forcefully married off to a man of another latin tribe family. she didn’t really want to marry him, but it meant that they would leave her be and stop pressing her.

she spent a good 7 years with her first husband, had children by him as well. but one night, he disappeared from their home. there was talk of monsters that roamed the night and many thought that he had been spirited away. that was until he was found the next morning with his throat ripped out. 

some claimed that it was the monsters they spoke of, the more sceptical people just said it was another animal attack. either way, people started to believe that sulpicia was cursed. two separate occasions where people died around her in the same sort of circumstances seemed suspicious.

most stayed clear of her after that, which left sulpicia depressed, feeling she was back where she had been when her parents died. but then a stranger from afar caught her eye. a dark stranger with ruby eyes and slick raven hair. aro.

seeing what he saw as what he was looking for in a mate -a smart, resourceful, and beautiful young woman- he approached her and got to know her, comforting her in her loneliness and wooing her. 

aro began successfully courting her, and she came to fall in love with him over the course of a year or so. he revealed his true nature to her but she told him that it didn’t change how she felt about him. she had few ties to her human community and agreed to become a vampire and become his wife. 

it wasn't until after her transformation that aro realised that though he cared for her greatly, sulpicia wasn't the mate he thought she was. they remain wife and husband, still very much bonded, but not in the way that they originally were. sulpicia does love aro, but she too noticed the disconnect. they were not true mates, more like platonic soulmates. 

she sticks by his side even to this day, and is perfectly content with just being by his side, leading with him as his queen.

she was there for all of two week before she was caught out by a rogue vampire who had been travelling through forks by chance. she was meant to just be another a meal, but something spooked them off and she was left for dead, the other vampire fleeing the area and letting her turn by her home the midst of the forks forests. 

her transformation was a long one, taking around a week for her to finally awaken to her new self. of course, she was very disorientated and confused, her instincts kicking in to seek out food. 

she currently is staying in her home, and has been living off various hikers who pass on the trails. of course people are going to start noticing soon... and that wont bode well for her....
