Oh, he didn’t think history books could be... interesting.. Finnian lost himself in one about the supposed witch hunts in the eighteenth century, suddenly snapping out of the focus of reading as he reminded himself he was working. Can’t get distracted! (but he would find a new distraction within minutes anyway he was sure). 

It wasn’t until he made his round between tables to find forgotten books that needed to be returned to their shelves until he made eye contact with an older man, recognizing those eyes... the hair.. wait.. he even sensed familiar! 

   “Prince?!” The sudden outburst caused the napping pixie on his head to actually fly off, offended.

“Char, why do you stay around someone like me.” It’s a genuine question. Kris couldn’t fathom why someone so sweet and kid would stay around someone so hostile and agitated; such as herself. 

Yet somehow the universe smiled upon the face of a murderer and gave them a sweet and loving friend. It seemed more like a timed detonator just waiting to explode rather than a blessing.

“o- oh,”  He’s not used to people questioning him.  Especially not in public, where there are many people who frequently have problems of their own.  It just feels odd.  “eh, don’t uh... don’t worry, my hands always shake. sometimes is worse, sometimes is better. win some l- lose some, y’know?”  He laughs, but it’s short and clipped.  Sparing glances all around, not long enough to catch any eyes specifically.  Just a precaution, paranoia weighing heavy on a rigid nearly regal posture.

    Honestly, Luke was just happy to see another person happy. That was all he ever really wanted when he did acts of kindness like this. He really wasn’t expecting anything in return, but refusing her offer felt a little rude to him. She was just trying to thank him. He really wasn’t hungry though or greedy like his brother. “You really don’t have to thank me! B-But something to drink would be nice….”

“I’m not really sure if they do either. But I think fashion makes people notice others beauty and it’s nice when everyone can see how pretty others are. Plus I think dressing nice just makes people feel nice.” And she loved making people feel nice after all.

“Oh! But I suppose I should have asked before just insisting.” She laughs at herself for not having asked before. “Would you like this scarf? You don’t have to take it if you don’t like it.”
