"Can I have that? I wanna see what it does!"
This child was set adrift from their home, and wanders the land in search of their mother. Bright-eyed and curious, they see the world with two sets of eyes but believes in neither. For they were once a child with a home, but now a wanderer of land and sea, armed with one lesson driven into their core - nothing is forever, and home is far from their understanding.
However, the tale doesn't end there. When they awoke in a forest under the care of a woman who walks on wind, and coaxes the earth to kneel, home may be easier to understand than they thought.

Muiel is one of the protagonists of my work in progress novel From Cradles to Graves. They're a selkie child who has lost their home and is in search of shelter as well as their mother. As luck has it, in a convoluted way, they awake to a woman who may be the answer to both their wants and needs.
