Franklin D. Roosevelt recording a speech in 1920. This was before his bout with polio, when he was Assistant Secretary of the Navy and a vice-presidential hopeful. He did get chosen for the VP nomination, but the ticket (led by Gov. James M. Cox of Ohio) was soundly defeated.
