Some extra doodles I had for day 4's new alt prompt!

Okay. Quick and dirty and very shoddy Lif Mii process. You can thank Nintendo for any cat hairs you see on my Switch 🧍

BUT!!!! FIRST OF ALL!!!!!!!!

HUH. SUDDENLY. I UNDERSTAND HIS MASK SO MUCH MORE? And really the best way I can explain it is breaking it down in colors like this. LOOK!!!!!!!!!! THOSE BLUE TEETH CONNECT!!!! And the mask almost feels like Ryoma's...? And! Those horns! The lower ones! Actually don't go above the ears! But for the sake of making a Mii, I did have to make some modifications. Still!! Huh!!!!!!!!! The pinks give an open jaw effect, AND they're connected to the front bottom row. The shapes highlighted in white give jaw flesh (if. He had any.) and cheek pouches... so cutes....

OKAY. NOW LOOK AT MY CREATION.

I did have to simplify some things, adjust some others, and! At one point I got tired of making miniscule little adjustments to him. So. But! You can see! I ended up connecting the blue and pink rows of teeth. And I shortened the long stripe of yellow, like so:

I think it looks more gum-like. Might be something I carry over into my artwork, too... Kozaki's work kicks ass, but there's definitely a lot of details that look good on his designs that don't translate well to my more simple artstyle. Even less so, for Miis. Overall, I'm really happy w the amount of detail I managed to balance, here!

Even breaking him down in shapes like these helped a lot. Sort of heart shaped jaw... I do love giving him heart motifs... I may have to tuck that idea in my pocket... And figuring out the cheek placement! Using the moustache option for his nosepiece also really helped center things, for me. For the mask itself, I traced along the lines where the Mii's beard starts. There are gaps if you do this, so you have to close them by blending the paint with the beard, essentially.

Bald........ But the mask looks pretty good without the hair covering it, too!

And here he is! All his features! It's hard to see bc of the quality, and without directly comparing him to another Mii that looks more... alive. But I used a greyish peach skintone to really capture The Look. His blush is blue, too. I also used my Alfonse to start my base of him, so they share a lot of the same structure! Putting the top eyelids over the eyes does make him look more tired.

I do think I could add some extra touches to his hair, but overall!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a lot of fun making him!!!!! And maybe one day I'll know how to draw his mask. 🫡🙂‍↕️
